Arm Lift FAQs
1. Is arm lift surgery right for me?
If you have skin on your upper arms, which exercise alone can’t remove, arm lift surgery can help to create a tauter, more toned appearance.
2. Can this surgery remove my “bingo wings”?
“Bingo wings” are caused by either loose skin or stubborn pockets of fat. This surgery will remove the loose, sagging skin under your arms, but arm liposuction may be an alternative - or used in combination to achieve the desired result. Your arm lift surgeon will be able to advise the best course of treatment for you based on your individual needs at your free consultation.
3. I have sagging skin under my arms. Can an arm lift help?
Considerable weight loss can result in the skin becoming overstretched so that it no longer retains its elasticity or tone. An brachioplasty (arm lift) will remove the sagging skin to give slimmer looking arms. The procedure can also be done as part of an overall body lift which uses a combination of procedures to create a smoother, more streamlined appearance.
4. How are arm lifts performed?
Under general anaesthetic, your arm lift Surgeon will remove the excess skin from the inner, upper arm.

6. Where will my surgery take place?
You will be cared for in one of our regulated cosmetic surgery hospitals. These are centres of clinical excellence and are regulated by the Care Quality Commission. As a patient of Transform you will only ever experience exemplary standards of care, hygiene and facilities.
7. How long is the recovery period from brachioplasty?
Patients are advised to take 2-3 weeks holiday from work. Post operation, you should avoid lifting or driving for 3-4 weeks after the surgery, but your Surgeon will provide individual advice at your consultation.
8. Will I receive any aftercare?
Your aftercare is included in the cost of your surgery. We will arrange a post-operative appointment with a clinic nurse and a review with your Surgeon. They will discuss your surgery and aftercare with you, check your arm is healing well and make sure you’re happy with the results.
If you have any questions or concerns after your procedure, you can also talk to our resident medical officer at any time on the 24/7 Transform Patient Helpline.
