Melissa's story

“Before my breast enlargement I wore a 34AA bra - always a gel bra or with chicken fillets - and looked like I’d never grow into a woman.”I've always been self conscious about my flat chest and felt very boyish. Before my operation I wore a 34AA bra - always a gel bra or with chicken fillets - and looked like I’d never grow into a woman. When I was pregnant with my two kids I really enjoyed having a bust. However, after I breast fed they quickly disappeared. It wasn't as though I had saggy 'deflated' breasts, I literally had nothing at all. I'm an active person and exercise regularly; and I know how to shed weight if I put on a few pounds - unfortunately I couldn't grow breasts through exercising! I was always very anxious about going on holiday as I knew I'd have to wear a bikini. I didn't want large breasts, just something to fill a bra, and it seemed every other woman around me had nice breasts - even my sister has big breasts! I hated my body so much I became depressed and knew I had to do something about it. I discussed a breast enlargement with my partner and, at first, he wasn't all for it. The staff at my local Transform clinic were really friendly and were free to talk if I had any questions outside of clinic hours. My surgeon was brilliant too. He asked me how I wanted my breasts to look and I told him I wanted as natural a result as possible - and I got exactly what I asked for. I was very nervous and scared before my operation but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. When I woke up I felt groggy and as though someone had sat on my chest. However, after the first day I felt fine. I took Arnica supplements which helped with any bruising. My recovery was quick and I was never in pain, I just felt uncomfortable at times. It's great to not be embarrassed by my body anymore. Before my operation I wasn't very confident with my partner - I always covered up. Now I feel comfortable with him and I'm generally much happier in myself. |
