Arm and Thigh lifts
The natural ageing process causes skin to lose its elasticity, but both men
and women will often find that the upper arms and thighs, in particular, lose
their firmness as the layers of muscle and fat become thinner.
In such cases, an arm lift (brachioplasty) or
thigh lift can help to restore and tighten these areas, giving you a much
firmer, more youthful look, and leaving you more confident to wear sleeveless
tops and fitted trousers.
what this procedure involves
Arm lifts and thigh lifts are performed in hospital under a general anaesthetic by our highly experienced medical team. In the
arms, incisions will be made along the inner arm, which may extend from the
armpit to the elbow. The skin is separated from the underlying fat and muscle
and excess skin is carefully removed. In thigh lift surgery, the incision is
along the inner thigh area, which may extend from the inner knee to the groin.
In some cases, where additional lift is needed, the incision may carry on along
either the femoral line or buttock fold. The excess skin is then carefully
removed.
Patients undergoing a thigh lift will need a two-night stay in one of our
purpose-built cosmetic surgery hospitals, but those undergoing an arm lift can
go home after one night. Your surgeon will advise you to take two to three
weeks off work.
We pride ourselves on our after-care. We offer a comprehensive and extensive
post-operative care programme, which includes
detailed post-operative instructions and follow-up appointments with your
surgeon at your local Transform clinic to ensure a speedy recovery, all at no
additional cost.
