Ear Correction FAQs
1. Who will ear correction surgery benefit?
Ear correction surgery would be beneficial to anyone who has protruding or prominent ears.
2. How will my ear surgery be done?
To correct protruding or prominent ears, a Surgeon will remove excess cartilage that is causing the ear to stick out. The ear is then pinned back along the fold into its new position.
3. Who will perform my surgery?
At Transform, you’re in the care of highly qualified and experienced people every step of the way.
When you choose Transform for your ear pinning surgery, you can be confident it will be carried out by Surgeons selected for their cosmetic surgery skill and knowledge.
We regularly review our Surgeons patient satisfaction rate and outcomes to ensure you always get the results you want.
4. Where will my operation take place?
Your ear correction operation will be carried out in one of our regulated cosmetic surgery hospitals which are centres of clinical excellence and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
Most cosmetic surgery providers do not own a cosmetic surgery hospital but with Transform you are in our care every step of the way.
5. Will I have to stay overnight?
Ear correction surgery can be performed under a local anaesthetic (you will be awake and the area numbed) and you can return home without an overnight stay. Alternatively, the operation can be performed under general anaesthetic and you can stay overnight in the comfort of a Transform hospital.
Ultimately, the Anaesthetist and your Surgeon will decide which type of anaesthetic you need.
6. What results can I expect from ear correction surgery?
Post-surgery, you can expect to have ears that do not protrude and give a balanced and symmetrical look to your face.
7. How long is the recovery period from ear correction surgery?
You will be required to wear a full head bandage for up to 1 week after surgery. A headband or head bandage will be needed at night for a further 2 weeks. Your ear(s) will be swollen and red for several weeks. We recommend at least a 1 week holiday from work for ear correction surgery patients.
8. Will I receive any aftercare?
Aftercare is included in the cost of your procedure. This will include a post-operative appointment with a clinic nurse and a review with your Surgeon at your local Transform clinic for your convenience.
They will discuss your ear correction aftercare, check your scars and ensure everything is healing well.
We also have a 24/7 Transform Patient Helpline which you can use to speak to our resident medical officer at any time after your surgery.
9. How much does ear correction surgery cost?
Ear correction surgery costs from £2,800. Here at Transform, we don’t see why finance should be a barrier to your happiness; that’s why we offer 12 months interest free credit for ear correction surgery. Find out more about our finance options.
10. How do I arrange to have ear correction surgery?
The first step towards arranging ear correction surgery is to book a free consultation with a member of our friendly, expert team. Use our online form or call us on 0800 655 6406.
11. What happens at a consultation?
Your first appointment will be with a Patient Care Co-ordinator at your local Transform clinic. At this stage we will talk you through the likely costs and the process, from consultation to aftercare so you know exactly what to expect.
Following your initial appointment you will be invited to a consultation with a Surgeon. Unlike many cosmetic surgery providers, we won’t charge you for your surgical consultation and you won’t be under any obligation to go ahead.
We understand that this is a big decision for you and we want you to be totally satisfied that it’s the right thing to do before committing to the procedure booking.
