Facelift

"I'd been terribly conscious about my double chin for years.""It was the first thing I'd see when looking in mirror and made me feel very ugly. I felt people looked at that rather than me as a whole and it really affected confidence. Although I'd always had my double chin, it got bigger and more wrinkly as I got older. I'd thought about having a facelift for quite a few years but had always put it to the back of my mind. When I turned 50, I thought to myself "If I don’t do it now, I never will" - I wanted to enjoy the rest of my life. I was very frightened about having my operation as I'd never had general anaesthetic before. However, my Co-ordinator was very good with me - she was open and truthful about my expectations - and the nurses who looked after me were very friendly and put me at ease. My recovery was quicker than I'd expected. I slept for a few hours after my operation and was frequently checked on by the nurses who offered me food and drink. I never felt by myself. I felt groggy for a couple of days after my procedure but I expected to as my Surgeon had told me I would. I'm now more confident in the way I look and I'm happy with way I see myself. The effects are natural - some people I've spoken to said they'd never have known I'd had anything done - and I'm glad as I didn't want my skin to look tight and stretched. " |
