Hair transplants - FAQs
Who will hair transplants benefit?
If you are a man or a woman suffering from hair loss, in the
form of a bald patch, thinning hair, or a receding hairline, then
you will benefit from hair transplanation.
How are the hair transplants done?
Our hair transplantation procedure involves the relocation
of hair follicles from one area of the head to another. Follicles
will be moved from an area of your head not affected by DHT levels
- usually the back or sides - into the area of hair loss. You will
find that new hair will usually start to grow between three and six
months after treatment - taking on the same colour and growing at
the same rate as before the hair loss. Because each graft is so
small, this technique may also be used on patches of thinning hair
as well as those that are already bald.
How long will it take to perform the hair transplanation?
Depending on the patient the procedure can take up to six
hours from start to finish.
What results can I expect from hair transplants?
With the experience and artistry of our surgeons who have
performed thousands of hair transplantations along side our team of
nurses you will achieve a very natural result. The hair normally
starts to grow gradually around three months until ultimately
taking on the exact thickness and characteristics of your other
hair.
How long is the recovery period from hair transplant
surgery?
There is no recovery time necessary after
hair transplantation surgery.
Are there any after effects from the hair transplant
surgery?
Apart from some initial soreness after the
treatment there are no real side effects of this procedure.
Are there risks associated with hair transplant
surgery?
Transform has performed more cosmetic surgery than any other
provider in the UK. As such, we are extremely experienced; there is
no provider better placed to help you become more confident through
a hair transplant procedure. You can talk through any concerns you
may have at your free consultation.
Can I combine other procedures with hair transplant
surgery?
Any treatments may be combined with hair transplants. This is a
popular procedure with men; many past patients have combined other
male procedures to improve the overall
effect.
How much do hair transplants cost?
Hair transplants cost from around £2000.
How do I arrange to have hair transplants?
The first step towards getting hair transplants is to book
a free consultation with a member of our friendly, expert team. At
a consultation, you can expect to see a patient care co-ordinator,
with whom you will have plenty of opportunities to ask any
questions you may have about the procedure. The consultation will
take around 30 mins, during which time you will not be given the
‘hard sell’. No pressure will be put on you to go through with the
procedure, and you will not be forced to make a decision at the
consultation. We understand that this is a big decision for you and
we want you to be totally satisfied that it’s the right thing to do
before committing to the procedure booking.
