Hair Removal FAQs
Who will hair removal benefit?
Anyone who has unwanted body hair on their face, back,
legs, bikini lines or underarms. If you find normal hair removal
techniques like shaving, waxing, electrolysis time-consuming or
unpleasant, then you should consider hair removal.
How is hair removal done?
A test patch is usually performed at the time of your
consultation or at least 24 hours prior to commencing treatments.
You will be asked to wear dark glasses to protect your eyes from
the beam. Next a cold gel (similar to ultrasound gel) will be
spread over the recently shaved treatment area. The hand piece is
then applied to your skin and pulses begin to heat the unwanted
hair to a point where it destroys the base of the follicle and
source of new hair growth. Over the next few days, the remaining
hair will then fall out.
How long will it take to perform hair removal?
Depending on the area to be treated, hair removal will take up
to an hour per session. A course of 6 sessions is recommended for
optimal results, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
How long is the recovery period from hair removal?
Patients can return immediately to work or
their daily routine after hair removal. Following treatment there
maybe some redness of the skin which will settle down within
hours.
Are there risks associated with hair removal?
Transform safely performs hundreds of laser
treatments each week using carefully selected, FDA approved lasers.
Our staff have completed a rigorous internal training program that
is externally verified, and our clinics are inspected and regulated
by the Care Quality Commission.
The minimal risks associated with
hair removal are often related to inadvertent changes in skin
colour, such as excessive sun exposure, new medications or tanning
lotions. Your practitioner will address any concerns you may have
at your free consultation.
Can I combine other treatments with hair removal?
Any treatment may be combined with hair removal. Many patients
like to combine hair removal with other procedures that will help
prepare a bikini-ready body, such as cellulite treatment, thread
vein or varicose vein removal. You
may also consider surgical procedures such as liposuction or breast
surgery to make sure you look great on the beach!
How much does hair removal cost?
Hair removal costs from £60.
