What a male hair transplant can achieve

The first thing you’ll want to know is what’s achievable? Hair transplants have great success in the restoration of the natural hairline and can stop hair loss altogether for hundreds of men. Our proven results are why more and more men are turning to us for hair loss treatment.

At your appointment with one of our Patient Care Co-ordinators, you'll be able to view a selection of before and after photographs of our previous patients.

Our solution to hair loss

Every man is different and to ensure you receive the most effective treatment for you, a consultation is essential. One of our patient care co-ordinators will talk you through the whole process. Unlike some providers, we’ll invite you to a free consultation with one of our hair transplant surgeons - you will meet them before your procedure, not just on the day.

They’ll create a personal treatment plan that includes the best hair transplant option for you and the results you can realistically expect. See our step-by-step guide that details each stage of the process from pre-op to aftercare.

The techniques we use

We offer two types of hair transplant surgery that are performed under local anaesthetic. So you can leave one of our Transform hospitals the same day.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
Your surgeon will pluck small groupings of healthy hair from your head and transplant them into the area of hair loss. Transplanted hair will then begin to grow as normal after a few months. The more hair that is transplanted, the better the result. There’s no scarring and it’s usually completed in one morning or afternoon ‘megasession’.

Micro-grafting/Micro hair transplanting
Each individual hair follicle is dissected under magnification. Fine incisions are made and each follicle is planted in the area of loss. With micro-grafting your surgeon can transplant more hair within the procedure time, giving effective results faster.

Side effects, risks and complications

Whilst these procedures are carried out by our experienced surgeons, under local anaesthetic, any surgical procedure carries the rare risk of complications. We’ll explain these to you before you book your hair transplant surgery, and you’ll find full details in our hair restoration patient guide provided at your consultation.

After surgery

The transplanted area may feel sore for a few days. You may want to take a few days off work whilst your scalp heals. Before leaving hospital we’ll give you practical advice on how to look after the treated area and ask you to make a follow-up appointment to check your progress. This is just part of our 3-year full aftercare programme.

Your surgeon may recommend further reviews at 3, 6 and 12 months. We’ll give you a 24/7 Patient Helpline number to call if you’ve any worries. Be patient though. Transplanted hair grows very gradually and can take up to four months before hair begins to come through.

How much does it cost?

It can cost between £3,000 and £7,000 depending on the hair transplant technique.
