Mole Removal
mole, cysts, skin-tag and lesion removal
What are moles, cysts, skin-tags & lesions?
Skin tags, lesions, moles and cysts are all extremely common skin abnormalities. There are so many different types of these lesions that whilst some people are untroubled by them, others prefer to have them removed - particularly if they cause irritation.
Remove moles, cysts, lesions and skin tags
Mole removal, cyst removal, lesion removal and skin tag removal are similar minor procedures which can be carried out as an outpatient in one of our clinics.
A dermatologist will remove a sample to send for analysis. This is just to ensure there are no abnormal cells. One of our highly skilled Doctors will then be able to complete the procedure by inserting tiny stitches. The procedure takes just 20 minutes.
Mole removal results
Removing skin lesions, tags, moles etc may leave a small scar which will fade in time.

Skin abnormality descriptions
Skin tags are small protruding bits of skin that often grow in the groin area, armpits, neck and eyelids.
Skin lesions are surface growths or patches of the skin that don’t resemble the skin around it. Skin lesions can be grouped into primary or secondary lesions.
Primary lesions are variations in colour or texture and often present at birth. These include moles or birthmarks. They also include those that develop as a result of infectious diseases such as warts, acne or psoriasis, allergic reactions such as hives or dermatitis, or environmental factors such as sunburn.
Secondary lesions are those changes in the skin that result from primary lesions, either as a natural progression or from scratching or picking.
Cysts are sacs filled with fluid or semi-fluid material. Cysts develop in various places in the body and arise from different tissues in the body.
Moles are growths on the skin that are usually brown or black. Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, alone or in groups. Moles usually appear in childhood but can also appear later in life. It is perfectly normal to have between 10-40 moles by adulthood. As the years pass, moles usually change slowly, becoming raised and/or changing colour. Often hairs develop.
