'Mommy makeovers' on the rise, cosmetic expert reports
06 May 2009

Growing
numbers of mothers are turning to
plastic
surgery to get their pre-pregnancy figures back, one expert
across the Atlantic has reported.
According to Philadelphia-based surgeon Dr Mark Solomon, the
ongoing rise in demand for 'mommy makeovers' is due to a
combination of factors, not least the fact that women are now
starting to take more pride in their appearance even after they
have settled down and started a family.
"
Cosmetic surgery is making it easier for women who want
to 'have it all' - the beautiful body and the beautiful family," he
said.
Among the most common procedures for mothers are
liposuction, breast augmentation and tummy
tucks, though Dr Solomon advises women to wait for a little while
after giving birth before seeking out
cosmetic
surgery.
Just last month, mother of four Ulrika Jonsson revealed her new
surgically-improved breasts, with the TV star revealing that a
desire to get her figure back led her to choose to go under the
knife.
