Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology can be used to help
restore the skin's youthful appearance through a process called
Photorejuvenation. Photorejuvenation is a dynamic treatment, which
generates intense pulsed light (IPL) to safely reduce the melanin
(dark pigment) in the skin, so that pigmented lesions fade and
slowly disappear. IPL using Photorejuvenation often consists of
full-face treatment or treatment of isolated body areas like the
hands or chest.

Intense Pulsed Light FAQs
Who will intense pulsed light (IPL) benefit?
Photorejuvenation using intense pulsed light (IPL) will benefit
people whose skin has suffered sun damage, who have fine line and
wrinkles, broken capillaries (facial thread veins), age spots,
blemishes, birthmarks and port wine stains, and rosacea.
How is intense pulsed light (IPL) done?
This treatment cannot be carried out without a free patch test
requiring 48 hours before any further treatments. The area to be
treated must not be recently tanned and also free from fake
tan.
A hand held treatment head is placed against the skin, which is
covered with a cooling conducting gel.. The light penetrates the
tissue and is absorbed by either the blood when treating vascular
lesions or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions damaging
them. The body's natural processes then remove the injured tissue
giving more even luminous, younger looking skin.
How long will intense pulsed light (IPL) take?
Well depending on the area to be treated about half an hour or
so
What results can I expect from intense pulsed light (IPL)?
Photorejuvenation using intense pulsed light (IPL) registers
very high in terms of patient satisfaction. Patients are very
pleased with treatment results because the process treats the full
face, neck, chest or hands, rather than addressing a single
isolated area or imperfection. Patients can see dramatic results
within a very short time. A course is usually recommended and our
experienced practitioner will be able to recommend how many
sessions will be needed. Sessions are usually 4 weeks apart.
Can I combine other treatments with intense pulsed light
(IPL)?
IPL therapy is an excellent treatment that can be combined with
many other products within the Transform range. Many of our
patients combine IPL with microdermabrasion sessions and peels to
gain a flawless complexion.
Are there any after effects from intense pulsed light
(IPL)?
Following treatment there maybe some pinkness and slight
swelling which will subside within about 20 minutes. Sun protection
is then recommended.

treatment?
The process is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because
the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side
effects.
How much does intense pulsed light (IPL) cost?
