We offer traditional surgical liposuction as well as the latest, less invasive ‘smart lipo’ procedures laser lipo and CoolSculpt.

Our liposuction methods page gives more details of each procedure and the areas it’s most effective for. However, for larger areas of body fat like the abdomen, thighs and buttocks, surgical liposuction is generally the most suitable option.

Many people choose to have liposuction because sometimes even the strictest diet and exercise regime just can’t shift stubborn fat or tackle an uneven body shape. Depending on the area and amount of body fat to be removed, liposuction, laser lipo or CoolSculpt can help to even out your body proportions or slim a particular area.

At your consultation with one of our Patient Care Co-ordinators, you'll be able to view a selection of before and after photographs of our previous patients surgery.

Liposculpture is an excellent way to shape, tone and contour specific body areas. Your body won’t replace the fat cells removed from these areas, so each method of liposuction can deliver a long-lasting change to your body shape. Do be aware that liposuction won’t remove cellulite or stretch marks and shouldn’t be considered a weight loss method; there is a limit to the amount of fat that can be removed.

To discover which method of liposuction is most suitable to achieve your aims, book a free consultation at your nearest Transform clinic. One of our Patient Care Co-ordinators will talk you through the benefits of each procedure and help you to make the right decision.

We will also invite you to a free consultation with one of our liposuction surgeons. This is a chance to discuss your chosen method in greater detail and the results you can realistically expect. Our step-by-step guide gives an overview of the process from start to finish.

Liposuction usually takes between one and three hours, depending upon the amount of fat to be removed. Surgical liposuction can be done under local anaesthetic for smaller areas but it more often requires a general anaesthetic, so you may need to stay overnight in one of our purpose built Transform hospitals.

Your surgeon will inject a salt water solution into the fatty area to be treated to break up the fat before inserting a thin metal tube called a cannula into the area. The fat is sucked out via the cannula using a vacuum pump (liposuction) or a syringe (liposculpture). The tube may need to be inserted a few more times to remove all the fat. The small incisions made often do not require any stitches so will heal by themselves and be unnoticeable in time.
