We’re a nation of multi-taskers and double-screeners, rarely seen watching the new binge-worthy Netflix series without our smartphones in hand whilst sending update after update to the group chat on the latest plot twist. *Hands up, if you’re guilty of this too*
It feels like we have less time and less time, so it’s no surprise that when it comes to enhancing our looks, we are searching for the most convenient treatments wherever possible that take up the least of those precious moments to ourselves. This is where medical aesthetics fit in. Non-surgical treatments can be a great alternative to traditionally more invasive surgical procedures especially given just how busy our lives can be. 2019 has continued to see the rise in aesthetics and it’s not hard to see why.
With this in mind, here are the 5 medical aesthetics treatments and procedures which are set to become even bigger news this year and all take under 1 hour to complete:
Price: Starting from £800 for 1 cycle on the chin area or "Bin the chin" package for £1,500
CoolSculpting, or fat freezing, involves cooling targeted fat cells to -11 degrees Celsius. At that temperature, the fat cells die and over the coming weeks are naturally processed by your body. Based on Cryolipolysis® technology, CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared solution that involves no surgery, anaesthesia, needles or downtime. But it is the chin that is becoming the area of choice, and as the smallest treatment area with the quickest treatment time, it’s the perfect ‘lunch hour’ pick-me-up. We mean, just look at the results from just a single session!
Price: Starting from £1,800
An overdeveloped or enlarged male chest, known as ‘gynaecomastia’, can be the result of losing weight or the natural ageing process which can cause extra tissue around the nipples and in some cases this results in prominent male breasts.
Whilst male chest reduction surgery can offer a number of long-term benefits to treat these concerns, body contouring treatments like CoolSculpting and SculpSure can also treat this area too. So, if you’re looking for something much less invasive, with no minimal downtime then this could be for you.
Price: Starting from £199 for one area
Wrinkle injections have always been seen as an anti-ageing treatment most popular with women in their 40s onwards, who want to address noticeable lines and wrinkles for a more youthful look.
But this is becoming increasingly popular amongst a younger clientele, who see it is as a preventative measure, to stop lines and wrinkles in their tracks before they have the chance to form. This is a trend that we are noticing more and more, in our expert Q&A, we talk more about wrinkle injections and twenty-somethings and see whether this is any science behind this trend.
Prices: Medical aesthetics personalised ME packages starting from £599
Although commonly used to treat the effects of ageing such as deep lines and wrinkles amongst the 40 plus, injectable fillers specifically for contouring the face are becoming more and more popular especially amongst social media influencers like Sarah Ashcroft*.
Gaining traction as the ‘injectable Instagram filter’ this is a non-invasive facial contouring procedure which uses small volumes of dermal filler. Around 2-3 syringes are used in targeted areas of the face to contour, define, strobe and highlight the same areas which you’d typically contour with creams and powders. 3D face contouring can also lift and slim the face and is most popular for its ability to enhance your natural features.

Whilst nose surgery is still one of our most popular cosmetic procedures, the liquid ‘nose job’ or non-surgical rhinoplasty is a great non-surgical alternative.
Firstly, it requires much less recovery time, and you are usually able to return to work immediately after treatment. Whilst we recommend being careful with your nose in the weeks following the filler, you can generally carry on with most normal activities soon after. Swelling and bruising is minimal and many of our customers find it a relatively pain-free treatment.
The results of non-surgical rhinoplasty are also temporary, which appeals to people who aren’t sure if they want to commit to full surgery and want to see what the results of surgery might look like first. It is also a more affordable option for customers wanting to change the shape of their nose without the higher financial commitment needed for cosmetic surgery.
