Eye bag removal

Eye bag removal surgery, also called blepharoplasty, is a procedure that’s designed to remove bags under your eyes or drooping eyelids, which can help create a more toned, younger looking facial appearance.

As we age, the muscles around the eyes relax and lose elasticity of the skin surrounding them. If you’re concerned about having bags under your eyes or drooping eyelids, blepharoplasty surgery could remove the excess fat and skin to tighten up the eye area. Here at Transform, our team guides thousands of men each year through their cosmetic surgery. Get in touch and start your journey to being the best you.

Cosmetic surgery to correct heavy, saggy or tired-looking eyelids is called upper blepharoplasty. The procedure removes excess skin and fat in the eyelids to provide tauter skin and help achieve a fresher looking eye area. Cosmetic surgery to correct bags under the eyes is called lower blepharoplasty. The procedure removes excess skin and fat in the area beneath the eyes, to help provide tauter skin. The procedures can be carried out under both local and general anaesthetic, and some patients choose to have both procedures at the same time.

You may feel some discomfort to begin with as the areas will feel tight, however we will provide you with pain relief during your hospital stay, and also give advice on how to manage your recovery at home. You can expect some swelling and bruising in the first couple of weeks.

At your free consultation, your surgeon will ask you about the results you want to achieve from the surgery. You can discuss every aspect of your eye surgery – from the different procedures to the benefits and risks –with no obligation to go ahead. Our surgeons are extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you have. There are several eye alteration procedures, which tackle the upper eyelid, beneath the eyes, or both together. Your surgeon will discuss the right surgery method for you and the results you can realistically expect. If you feel ready to go ahead and book your surgery, they’ll then refer you to a clinic nurse who’ll perform some pre-op tests and procedures.

On the day of your surgery, you’ll meet with your surgeon so you can go through the consent form and ask any last-minute questions. You’ll then be introduced to the rest of your surgical team before going into theatre. There are three types of blepharoplasty that we perform: Upper blepharoplasty, which is performed along the crease line of the upper eyelid. Lower blepharoplasty, which is performed along the crease of the lower eyelash. Upper and lower blepharoplasty, when both the upper and lower procedures are performed together. During the procedure, your surgeon will make incisions into either the creases in your eyelids or just below your eyelashes. The excess fat and skin is removed to tighten up the area.
