Time to focus on you

Known as Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP), this powerful aesthetic treatment can be used to stimulate hair growth in the scalp and/or rejuvenate skin on your face and neck. It’s sometimes referred to as the Vampire Facial or Vampire Facelift. A Vampire Facial combines PRP and dermal filler treatments.

The treatment works by using your body’s own platelet-rich plasma and injecting it back into the scalp or face. This process promotes skin healing by releasing a large amount of growth factors from your platelets, which, in turn, stimulates the growth of hair and skin cells.

PRP stimulates collagen, elastin and cellular growth, as well as improving local blood supply, hydration, skin texture and tone. PRP refines lines and wrinkles, reduces acne scars and stretchmarks.

We’re all a work in progress

Because PRP therapy uses your own platelet rich plasma derived from your own blood, it’s beneficial to anyone looking for rejuvenation treatment without the use of man-made products.

PRP can be used to treat hair loss, signs of ageing, acne scars, skin texture and dark circles. Skin cells in the face and neck are replenished and plumped.

Due to the mechanism of the treatment, there’s minimal downtime and you should see results within 3 weeks.

Let’s delve into the detail

As with all medical aesthetic treatments, it’s important to weigh up the risks involved against the benefits that the treatment can bring.

PRP therapy is a low-risk treatment but can include side effects such as redness, bruising and swelling.

Ready to believe in the best you?

Discussing PRP therapy with your medical aesthetic practitioner is the best way to find out if this is the right treatment for you. If you’re thinking about having PRP for hair loss, the treatment is most effective if you’re in the early stages of losing your hair, you have small patches of alopecia, or have weak areas of hair growth.

FAQ

PRP Facial Treatment (Vampire Facelift) & Hair Rejuvenation FAQs

More FAQs
Who is PRP suitable for?
PRP therapy is suitable for anyone who is fit and healthy and would like to boost their complexion or improve hair growth on the scalp. People who should consider alternative treatments are those who are pregnant, or have active acne or blood disorders.
What does a PRP treatment involve?
PRP is a minimally-invasive treatment that takes around 30-45 minutes using the platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. Your practitioner will extract blood from your arm, like a standard blood test. The blood is then placed into a centrifuge and spun for 10 minutes to separate the platelets and plasma from the other blood components. Your practitioner will inject the platelet-rich plasma into the desired area, whether it be scalp or face.
How quickly can I see the results of PRP?
You’ll notice the results within 3 weeks of treatment. A course of treatment may be required depending on your skin condition.
Can I carry on with my normal life while having PRP?
Yes, there is minimal downtime after the treatment although your skin may feel sore. Any soreness and swelling will subside within 2 days.
Is PRP safe?
Yes, PRP therapy is safe because it uses your own plasma. It can be administered exclusively or used in conjunction with other aesthetic procedures, such as dermal fillers.

Next steps

We’re ready when you are

Your first appointment

The initial step will be chatting with your friendly and knowledgeable surgeon assistant. You’ll be able to talk to them about why you’re considering PRP treatment, whether it’s right for you, the likely cost and finance options, and when you’d like to have the treatment. If you feel ready, we’ll then book you in for your free consultation with your medical aesthetic practitioner.

Your treatment consultation

At your free consultation, your medical aesthetic practitioner will guide you through the PRP treatment options to ensure you get the best results. You can discuss every aspect of your treatment with no obligation to go ahead. Our doctors and nurses are extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you have. If you feel ready to proceed, we can book the procedure in for a day and time that suits you.

The treatment

On the day of your PRP treatment you’ll have time to ask any last-minute questions before the treatment is started. Your practitioner will take blood from your arm – like a standard blood test, and this will be used to extract the platelet rich plasma for your treatment. Your tube of blood will be placed into a centrifuge for about 10 minutes to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components in the blood.

If you are having PRP for hair loss, our practitioner then will take the plasma and inject it into your scalp to help trigger natural hair growth, by increasing the blood supply to the hair follicle. For face/skin replenishment, your treatment may include microneedling, dermal filler or fractional laser. Microneedling and fractional laser are used to create tiny channels deep into the skin. The plasma is then applied and soaks into the pin-prick holes. The treatment takes between 30 and 45 minutes. Dermal fillers are used to add volume and definition to the face.

Recovery

You’ll be able to leave the clinic on the same day as the treatment. Your skin may feel sore from the small injections and there may be bruising or swelling, which usually settles within a couple of days

Aftercare

High quality aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself, so we’re here to support you. If you have any questions or concerns at all, you can contact our 24/7 helpline. We recommend taking a day off work for the redness to settle, but this isn’t always necessary. Any discomfort, swelling or bruising at the injection sites will heal within 2 days.
