Getting to know Dr Frati

Meet our Cosmetic Surgeon to the Stars, Dr Frati

It's been less than a month since we acquired our cosmetic surgeon to the stars, Dr Frati, and already we've seen a buzz around our three hospitals and the array of clinics he works from. There's no doubt Dr Frati has a presence- and it's easy to see why. With two decades' worth of experience in cosmetic surgery under his belt and an impressive portfolio of breast, nose, face, and body procedures- the only way is up for Dr Frati. You've asked and we've answered... let's get to know one of our top cosmetic surgeons, Riccardo Frati.

About Dr Frati's cosmetic surgery career

1. Why did you decide to become a cosmetic surgeon?

My father was a very eminent professor of dermatology, he was my biggest inspiration and also my personal drive to help others. I have a passion for music, and I play the keyboard and organ in my spare time. Art and beauty mean a lot to me-  see myself as an artist helping people.

2. Where did you study and train to become a cosmetic surgeon?

I studied at The University of Rome, Brazil, and the USA. During my training, I was a visiting fellow at the Pintanguy Clinic in Rio, along with the University of Texas Southwestern, Miami University, New York University and Illinois University. I have also published over 100 scientific papers, and I'm frequently asked to visit surgical conferences around the world. To read more about my qualifications as a cosmetic surgeon, visit my profile on Transform's website here

3. Which cosmetic procedures do you specialise in?

Being a specialist consultant plastic surgeon, I like to perform most cosmetic procedures. Breasts and rhinoplasty tend to be the most popular procedures that are requested where I am renowned. I also specialise in tummy tucks, facelifts, eye bag removal and body lifts such as arm and thigh. You can find a full list of the procedures I perform on my surgeon profile here

4. What piece advice would you give to someone considering cosmetic surgery?

This must be something that you have taken great time (years) to consider and research seriously. Talk to other people who have had the same procedure for their experience. Do not have surgery to please anyone else apart from yourself.

5. What would you say is a big misconception about cosmetic surgery?

Surgery has very positive results however, it is not purely a decision that is skin deep, and it is not entirely about vanity. Each patient must be a happy individual on the inside first before wanting to change things on the outside.

6. Why have you decided to join Transform and The Hospital Group?

They are both leading cosmetic surgery providers in the country and my mission is the same as theirs- to help people achieve the best in the best environment with the best medical team. Transform/The Hospital Group are transparent and deliver high standards.

7. What are you hoping to bring to Transform and The Hospital Group?

My experiences of working as a specialist consultant plastic surgeon to help grow the company even more and to provide the best experience for all customers.

8. When will you be joining Transform and The Hospital Group, and when can patients book appointments?

With immediate effect. To book a free consultation with me, please fill out a form here. A friendly member of the contact centre will call you back at a time that suits you.

9. Which hospitals will you be operating from?

I will be performing surgeries from Riverside London, Manchester Pines, and Dolan Park in Birmingham. I provide free consultations in many of Transform and The Hospital Group's clinics, including Cornhill, Fulham and Weymouth Street (London), Reading, and Maidstone.

A little more about Dr Frati

10. Describe how you like to work in three words

Passion, tenacity, and care.

11. What motto do you live your life by (favourite motivational quote)?

‘The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams’ (E.Roosevelt).

12. Tell us one thing that nobody knows about you

I play the organ at a very senior classical level and will be playing for my friends' wedding ceremony at the end of the month.

13. What is the most random fact you know?

Most muppets are left-handed. This is because most puppeteers are right-handed, so they operate the head with their favoured hand.
