If you’re concerned about varicose veins, you’re not alone. There are a selection of options available for varicose vein treatment and more and more people are turning to private cosmetic surgeries for varicose vein surgery.
In most instances of varicose vein removal, surgery is not required. An ultrasound test is carried out to diagnose the actual cause of your varicose veins. Once we have identified the cause, we will select one of three different varicose vein treatments – Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), Radiofrequency VNUS Closure, and Vein Avulsion. Your consultant will talk through our surgical and non-surgical options at your initial appointment.

The procedure takes around 45-60 minutes, but this depends on which of the three different treatment techniques is used-Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), Radiofrequency VNUS Closure, or Vein Avulsion. Vein Avulsion treatment can take longer than the other two.
We have both surgical and non-surgical options available for varicose vein treatment. The following options will be discussed in your consultation and we’ll discuss which will enable you to receive the best results.
Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) uses laser light to seal the varicose vein from the inside.
Radiofrequency VNUS Closure is similar to EVLA but uses heat instead of a laser to seal the vein from the inside.
Vein Avulsion removes the varicose vein by making a small incision into the skin and removing it using a surgical hook.
During your consultation, a review of your past and present medical history is discussed. The Consultant or nurse will choose the pre-operative tests considered to be appropriate, most of which are typically routine blood tests. If necessary, the medical team may request further tests, before your treatment commences.
One of our highly qualified consultant vascular surgeons will carry out the varicose vein removal procedure.
The varicose vein removal procedure generally involves a local anesthetic which will minimise pain and enable you to remain comfortable throughout.
Slight discomfort is normal after varicose vein surgery. We should point out that pain thresholds vary from patient to patient. It is common to experience bruising and swelling in the early post operative period. This is entirely normal and will settle down naturally.
Following varicose vein removal treatment, most patients can walk and be discharged on the same day and are able to continue normal activities. A follow up appointment with the Nurse and Surgeon/Consultant is advised.
We at Transform, work to ensure that we minimise the risks involved. Removing veins is a safe procedure.
At Transform we offer a range of difference vein removal treatments.
Varicose veins are swollen and enlarged veins frequently found in the legs or feet. They can often cause extreme discomfort due to their enlarged twisted shape. Our varicose vein removal treatments permanently remove problematic varicose veins through surgical or non-surgical procedures, the results of which are permanent.
Thread veins, or spider veins, are smaller in size and appear as small purple or blue thin veins usually found on the face, legs or arms. Removal treatments don’t involve invasive surgery and there are a number of options available to help reduce thread vein visibility.
Varicose vein treatment cost will be discussed in your consultation and your consultant will talk to you in depth about our finance options.
With Transform, you will have the option of paying a deposit of just £500 and can choose either 12 monthly interest-free payments or spreading the cost over two to five years.
