Microdermabrasion

What is microdermabrasion?

Once you're in your 20’s, your skin becomes less efficient at renewing itself. One way to remove dead skin cells, improve your skin’s texture and reveal a more radiant, healthy looking you is to exfoliate with microdermabrasion. It helps stimulates collagen production and promotes the growth of healthy new cells.

How does Microdermabrasion work?

Microdermabrasion is a form of exfoliation that polishes the top most layer of your skin and then ‘vacuums’ away the dead skin cells. Unique diamond chip wands carefully polish your skin to reveal its natural radiance. This reduces fine lines and rejuvenates the complexion quickly and without discomfort. In addition to smoothing and improving the complexion of your skin, it can give it a more luminous glow and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

What it involves

We use the advanced Diamond Tome system of dermabrasion. This reduces fine lines and rejuvenates the complexion quickly and without discomfort. It promotes lymphatic processes which eliminate toxins and bring nourishment to the skin. A moisturiser and sun block are then applied as healthy new skin cells are exposed to the elements and will need initial protection.

Treatment is carried out by our experienced and fully qualified practitioners in a modern, regulated, well equipped clinical environment.

Duration and recovery

The treatment usually takes around 45 minutes and a course of 6 treatments is usually recommended to achieve the best results. We normally allow 1-2 weeks between treatments.

The results

After your course of microdermabrasion treatments, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles should be smoothed.  In addition to smoothing and improving the complexion of your skin, it can give it a more luminous glow and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Your skin tone should also appear brighter.

Top up treatments

Typically treatments are once or twice a week for 6 treatments and one per month therafter. Your fully trained practitioner will discuss your suitability to treatment and create a personal treatment plan to help you achieve the best results.

Microdermabrasion can also be used to enhance the results of other skin rejuvenation treatments. Combined with Botox® or dermal fillers, it can help the effects of other treatments last longer. Microdermabrasion also compliments IPL laser skin rejuvenation and facial peels.
