"When I first mentioned the idea to my husband and family, they were very supportive - my Nan just said ‘go for it girl!’ Although I had made up my mind by this stage, and wasn’t really seeking their approval as such, it felt really good to have them all behind me.
I have been blessed with a very supportive family so I wasn’t too surprised by their reaction. When I was younger I was teased about my ears as they stuck out, so I had an operation to correct them. Once I had them done, I was so much happier in my own skin. I thought about the feeling I had felt after my ears were pinned back and I clung onto that. It was remembering this feeling, and emotion, that drove me forward and helped me make the final decision about my breast augmentation.
I felt great when I woke up from having surgery and recovered really quickly with no issues at all. I can’t love my new breasts any more than I do. They look so natural, are the perfect size and shape for me and are very much in proportion to the rest of my body.
Having my ears corrected when I was younger felt like a necessity, it was something I had to have done, but this procedure was different in that it was exciting and positive, and just for me.
It has been a great confidence boost and I actually forget that I ever had surgery now. People are always so surprised when I tell them. I feel like they have always been mine and that I finally have the body I’ve always wanted! It has been a great confidence boost."
