Your first consultation

Abdominoplasty is a major procedure and you’ll want to feel fully informed about the process, the operation and the results you can realistically expect before you decide to go ahead. That’s why your initial appointments and consultations at Transform are completely free of charge and you’ll be under no obligation to proceed any further.

Your first consultation at your local Transform clinic will be with one of our expert Patient Care Co-ordinators who will discuss the overall process with you and give you an idea of the price of your surgery.

To see what happens at each stage of the journey, from your first consultation to your aftercare, take a look at our step-by-step guide.

You’ll go on to meet your surgeon. This is a chance to learn about the procedure in more detail, what it would involve for you and what to expect afterwards. Take this opportunity to get all the information you need before deciding if a tummy tuck would be right for you.

Things to ask your surgeon could include:

  • Where will the incisions be made and what scarring will I have?
  • How long should I take off work and when will I be fully recovered?
  • What can I do before and after surgery to ensure the best results?
  • Can I have children after a tummy tuck?
  • What could go wrong?

Remember, you’ll be meeting the surgeon who will perform your operation so it’s a chance to discuss your individual needs and receive expert advice.

*Cosmetic surgery results and benefits can vary and are different for each individual. As such, Transform cannot guarantee specific results.

To make sure everything runs smoothly in the lead up to your procedure, please ensure you’ve:

  • Booked your pre-operative screening consultation at the Transform Clinic. This is just to make sure you’re fit and healthy for the anaesthetic.
  • Booked time off work. Your surgeon will advise you on how long to take.
  • Arranged transport home from the hospital.
  • Read the post-operative tips on our tummy tuck aftercare page.
  • Please let us know if you feel unwell with a cold or infection before your operation as this could affect your reaction to the anaesthetic.
  • For hygiene reasons, please remove any nail varnish  or body piercings before you come to hospital.
  • You’ll be having a general anaesthetic, so you mustn’t eat anything for 6 hours or drink anything for 2 hours before your admission time.

If you have any questions or need more advice, don’t hesitate to call your Transform hospital or your Patient Care Co-ordinator.
