What is VASER liposuction?
VASER liposuction - or VASER lipo, is a less invasive fat removal and body sculpting procedure. Vaser uses ultrasound technology to breakdown fat cells without damaging the surrounding tissue. The fat is then removed from the body through a suction process.
How much does VASER lipo cost?
VASER liposuction typically costs between £3,100 and £6,000 depending on the number and size of the areas to be treated. This is similar to liposuction surgery, making VASER a good option for busy people who are looking for quick recovery times.
Why VASER lipo vs. other liposuction procedures?
VASER lipo, an ultrasonic liposuction method, has been growing in popularity for more than a decade because patients experience a shorter recovery time than with other fat removal surgery such as traditional liposuction. As well as removing fat from the body Vaser lipo sculpts the body too and there is also reduced downtime.
It can be used on multiple areas of the body and the technology is less damaging to muscle tissue and connective tissue so visible results are seen more quickly. There is also less scarring and bruising than with traditional liposuction methods.
Advantages of VASER liposuction
- Can be performed under local anesthetic
- Less invasive – no damage to surrounding body tissue
- Less scarring / bruising / blood loss
- Minimal downtime / quicker recovery
- Better quality fat for ‘fat transfer’
What the procedure involves
VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance.
All cells in the body, including fat cells, vibrate naturally. This smart liposuction procedure breaks down fat cells by amplifying that natural process.
The advanced ultrasound technology we use allows us to effectively break down fat cells without affecting other cells that vibrate at different frequencies. The liquefied fat cells are then removed from the body using a gentle suction process.
The procedure is less invasive, which means that only small incisions are made in order to suck out the broken down fat cells. These incisions are typically too small to require stitches so multiple visits to your Transform clinic are not usually required for suture removal.
Only one treatment is usually required and this usually takes between 1-3 hours, depending on the number of areas that you want to treat.
VASER lipo results
VASER lipo results in a subtle, natural look. The ultrasonic liposuction procedure stimulates collagen production in the body, leaving many patients with tighter skin than conventional liposuction.
Many patients see instant results, however the improved overall appearance of the treated areas will become apparent in the months following the procedure.
LPG - LIPOMASSAGE™
For best results we recommend that a compression garment (which we will provide) should be worn during the day for 7-10 days following the procedure and that a course of LIPOMASSAGE™ is undertaken to further improve results. The treatment can help to reduce any swelling and aide the skin to shrink back more efficiently.
During your initial consultation your Patient Co-ordinator will talk to you in more detail about the benefits of LIPOMASSAGE™ treatment.
Is VASER liposuction the right treatment for me?
Some areas of the body are more likely to store fat than others – so VASER lipo could be the right solution for you if you are unable to lose the weight from certain areas no matter how much you exercise.
Where can I have VASER liposuction?
The procedure is typically used for areas that are likely to store fat such as the tummy (abdomen), love handles (flanks), back, thighs, arms and chin, but can be used on a number of different areas without issue. It is also popularly used for men to treat gynaecomastia (man boobs). We can deal with multiple areas in a single visit – this can be discussed with your surgeon during your consultation.
Who will perform my procedure?
Your procedure will be performed at one of our hospitals by a fully qualified Transform Surgeon who has a license to practice with the GMC. Our Surgeon’s work hard to earn each patient’s trust because even the latest ultrasound liposuction equipment is only as good as the surgeon operating it. Our surgeons perform the full range of lipolysis procedures and are experienced with VASER equipment.

How safe is VASER liposuction?
Ultrasound liposuction is very safe. It is less invasive than traditional liposuction so downtime and time in hospital post surgery is reduced so there are fewer risks.
