Dr Aziz Gulamhusein is a distinguished Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon specialising in advanced robotic surgery for urological cancers and complex abdominal procedures. He has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney, prostate and testicular cancers, delivering state-of-the-art care using the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques.
After graduating from Sheffield Medical School, Dr Gulamhusein undertook advanced specialist training in urology and robotic surgery. He completed the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons Robotic Kidney Cancer Surgery Fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital and further enhanced his expertise through training at the European Robotic Urological Society (ERUS) robotic centre in Aalborg, Denmark.
Dr Gulamhusein currently practises at Electiva Hospitals and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, where he focuses on the treatment of urological cancers. He also holds an honorary consultant contract at The Royal Marsden Hospital, collaborating with leading multidisciplinary cancer teams and contributing to the advancement of robotic cancer surgery.
Recognised for his expertise in robotic-assisted surgery, Dr Gulamhusein performs a high volume of complex kidney procedures each year and is committed to delivering personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s individual needs. His approach combines advanced surgical techniques with a strong focus on patient safety, recovery and long-term outcomes.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Gulamhusein is actively involved in education and research. As a Urology Module Lead at Sheffield Medical School, he plays an important role in training future doctors and urologists. His research interests include robotic surgery, enhanced recovery pathways and innovations in urological care, and he has authored numerous publications in leading medical journals.
