How much does breast augmentation cost?

As a responsible provider of cosmetic surgery, we understand that every patient is different, and so your treatment will be tailored specifically to you. Because of this, our free face-to-face, no obligation consultations are particularly important. Following our consultation process, your surgeon assistant will provide a detailed pricing overview so that you know how much your procedure will cost. It’s important to remember that, although cost is of course an important factor in your final decision, it should be considered alongside other elements such as high levels of care and patient safety, and your surgeon’s expertise and experience.

Are breast implants safe?
Breast implants have an exceptional safety record and have been used in over a million procedures worldwide. Rest assured that we only use the safest breast implants in the cosmetic surgery industry, and all our surgeons are General Medical Council registered with high levels of experience and skill. When you come to us for your breast enlargement, you’ll have access to a two-year aftercare program as standard, with the option to extend by up to three years for extra peace of mind. If you have any other questions or concerns about the safety of breast augmentation surgery, then our surgeons will be happy to talk to you more about this.
How long will my breast implants last?
Breast implants are not designed to last forever, but they don’t have a specific lifespan. Most surgeons say it’s wise to have your implants replaced between 10 to 20 years after the original procedure. Even if you’ve not experienced any problems, we recommend getting your implants checked over by a surgeon around 10 years after your surgery to make sure everything’s still okay.
Can I have a breast uplift with my breast enlargement surgery?
Yes, many women choose to combine the two procedures and have a breast lift at the same time as their enlargement. Surgeons may recommend this if your breasts have lost volume and you want to lift them, while also increasing the size.
How old do you have to be to have breast implants?
In the UK, the youngest age for breast implants to be considered is 18 years old. The breast augmentation age limit is to ensure that breasts have fully grown and developed naturally before any surgery is undertaken.
How long does breast enlargement surgery take?
Breast enlargement surgery usually takes between one and two hours under general anaesthetic. Your breast surgery time will depend on the type of procedure you’re having. Prior to this, you will probably spend a couple of hours before the procedure meeting with your surgeon and being prepared for theatre. After the procedure, you are likely to be in recovery for a few more hours until you wake up from the anaesthetic.
How long will I have to stay in hospital following my breast augmentation?
You may be able to return home on the same day that you have your surgery, but many of our patients require or prefer an overnight stay in one of our dedicated hospitals. We’ll discuss what we think is best with you before we book your breast augmentation surgery, so you know what to expect on the day.
What are the main risks of breast enlargement surgery?
Although breast enlargement is a very commonly performed surgery, it’s important to remember that any surgery carries some potential risks. The risks of breast enlargement surgery include bleeding, infection, and implant rippling. We’ll discuss all potential risks with you prior to surgery and answer any questions you have.
What’s the difference between ‘above the muscle’ and ‘behind the muscle’ implants?
‘Over’ or ‘above the muscle’ procedures involve placing the breast implant in front of your breast muscle, which means it’s more superficial and sits just below the breast tissue. This might be the best option for you if you have some breast tissue already or if you’re restoring fullness to deflated breasts. ‘Under’ or ‘behind the muscle’ refers to an implant that sits behind the breast muscle. This type of breast implant placement is suitable for women with very small breasts who have very little breast fat. This method reduces the likelihood of your breast implants showing and gives a more natural-looking result; however, it can be more difficult to place larger implants this way. Your surgeon will discuss the different types of breast enhancement surgery with you and get to understand the results you want to achieve. They will then recommend the best type of breast implant placement for your body.
How do I know what size breast implants to choose?
After discussing the look that you want to achieve, your surgeon will make their recommendations on which size of implant to go for and explain their choice to you. Although your surgeon will be able to estimate your new breast size based on the implant size and the current size of your breasts, we can’t guarantee exactly what cup size your breasts will be after surgery.
Will I have breast augmentation scars following surgery?
You can expect minor scars after breast implant surgery, but these will fade significantly over time and become much less noticeable. Where your scars are will depend on the method your surgeon uses: one method leaves a scar under the breast hidden in the crease, while others can involve making incisions around the nipple or through the armpit. We’ll make sure you understand where any breast augmentation scars will occur before you book in for surgery.
Can I have a breast uplift with my breast enlargement?
Yes, many women choose to combine the two procedures and have a breast lift at the same time as their enlargement. Surgeons may recommend this if your breasts have lost volume and you want to lift them while also increasing the size.
How will getting pregnant affect my breast implants?
Pregnancy affects breasts with implants in the same way that it affects breasts without them. This means that if you gain a lot of weight during pregnancy, the skin of the breast can stretch, and sagging may occur afterwards. You can read our post on breastfeeding after a boob job for information on how breast implants affect nursing.
How do I get registered on the breast implant registry?
The Breast and Cosmetic Implant Registry (BCIR) captures the details of all breast implant procedures completed in England by both the NHS and private providers. This is so they can be traced in the event of a product recall or other safety concern relating to a specific type of implant. Transform can add details of your implants to the register after your surgery at no additional cost. To request details with regards to your breast implants, please email [email protected]. We currently hold information on all breast implants used by Transform since 2004.
What is ALCL?
Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (ALCL) is an extremely rare type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma (NHL), a cancer involving the cells of the immune system. ALCL can affect 1 in 24,000 women who have breast implants. It is important to emphasise the extremely low probability of ALCL occurring in women with boob implants. Instances of Breast Implant Associated ALCL (BIA-ALCL) generally occur several years after the breast implant surgery; on average, eight years following the procedure. The majority of cases are easily treated by removing both the implant and the surrounding capsule, known as a total capsulectomy. Breast enlargement patients will be made fully aware of this condition as part of the consent process before having their procedure.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF HERNIA?

There are several main types of hernia:

• Inguinal hernia – Inguinal hernia surgery focuses on hernias that pass between the inguinal canals in the anterior abdominal wall. The most common type of hernia, they occur between the uterus and abdomen in women, and the abdomen and scrotum in men. They affect 3% of women and 27% of men, according to a 2017 study. This hernia must be operated on and repaired.

• Incisional hernia – Incisional hernias typically happen because of surgery, with the affected organs pushing through areas of the abdomen weakened by an operation. According to Mount Sinai Hospital, 15-20% of hernias are incisional. This hernia must also be operated on.

• Femoral hernia – Femoral hernia repair is required when part of the bowel or the fatty tissue close to it moves into your groin towards the top of your thigh. The University of California Gastrointestinal Surgery Department notes that femoral hernias make up 3% of all hernias but are 10 times more common in women than men. These hernias can go unnoticed but must be quickly operated on if they restrict blood flow.

• Epigastric hernia – Epigastric hernias affect the top of the anterior abdominal wall. They can give rise to symptoms like pain, bulging, nausea and vomiting or be asymptomatic. This hernia must be operated on.

• Umbilical hernia – Affecting both babies and adults, umbilical hernias occur on or around the belly button. These hernias are quite common among newborns.

• Hiatal hernia – Hiatal hernia repair focuses on hernias forcing their way between the diaphragm and oesophagus, causing indigestion and heartburn. These hernias can sometimes go away on their own but often require surgery.

IS HERNIA REPAIR SURGERY PAINFUL?

Whether you have open or keyhole hernia surgery, it is unlikely to be painful or uncomfortable during the procedure. That is because your medical staff will use either general anaesthetic (where you are not awake for the procedure) or local anaesthetic (where the site of the surgery is numbed) while they operate. Afterwards, you may experience some pain at the site of your hernia surgery. This can be reduced with pain relief medication and will fade as you heal.

We recommend gradually building up to any activity during your recovery period, though there are some activities we advise you to avoid completely – even after your recovery. You should certainly avoid high-impact sports such as running, contact sports or weightlifting. Your surgeon will be able to advise you further as to which sports you can participate in. For instance, they may recommend that you avoid tennis, squash and skiing, but that you carry out gentle exercise like cycling, dancing and golf instead.

HOW SOON CAN I FLY AFTER KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY?

You should discuss flying timescales with your GP, as your chance of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) increases after surgery. Airlines also have their own regulations relating to passengers who have recently had surgery, so you should check this beforehand.

WHAT DOES THE KNEE REPLACEMENT RECOVERY PROCESS INVOLVE?

After your knee replacement surgery, you’ll be encouraged to get up and go for a short, assisted walk as quickly as possible. This can be done with the help of our care team and a walker or crutches. Once you return home, you’ll need someone with you for at least a week to help you with shopping, cooking, cleaning and other daily activities. You will be prescribed pain medication that should help ease any discomfort. It’s important to try to get up and walk as soon as you’re able, either with the help of a walker, cane or crutches. After six to eight weeks, you should be walking normally and can continue with gentle exercise like swimming. Within a year, you should expect to feel comfortable with your new knee, but you should continue to avoid any extreme sports or any activities that put a lot of strain on your joints. ARE THERE ANY IMPORTANT EXERCISES TO PERFORM AFTER A KNEE REPLACEMENT?

There are several exercises you can try during your knee replacement recovery, but the exact ones you try will be discussed with you by your surgeon. That’s because different exercises are better for different procedures and points during your recovery.

WHAT CAN CAUSE THE KNEE TO REQUIRE REPLACEMENT?

Knee replacements are typically performed on people suffering from chronic and severe knee pain that prevents normal movement. The causes of this pain are varied, including arthritis (osteoarthritis specifically), a new injury to the knee bones or cartilage, an old knee injury that has degraded over time, gout, haemophilia, bone growth diseases or a knee deformity.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?

Your penis will have some swelling and bruising, which may last several days. Over-the-counter painkillers can help with any discomfort. Because it is exposed, it is likely that the head of the penis will feel overly sensitive for the first week or two. It may also dry out and scab over. Applying Vaseline should help with both decreasing sensitivity and counteracting dryness. When this has settled, it is likely that your penis will feel slightly less sensitive than before the procedure. The dissolvable stitches should disappear within two to three weeks. It can take up to six weeks before the penis settles down into its final cosmetic appearance.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOLLOWING MY PROCEDURE?

You should wear clothes that are comfortable for you, whether they are loose-fitting or a more snug fit for support, for the first few days after your circumcision surgery.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP SPEED UP MY RECOVERY?

Try to make sure that you keep the area dry for 48 hours following your surgery. Avoid taking baths, and do not go swimming for two to three weeks after your surgery.

WHEN CAN I RE-START SEXUAL ACTIVITY?

Although you will continue to get erections as normal after the procedure, you should refrain from sexual activity for four weeks. You may feel tightness or discomfort around the scar tissue when you first get erections, but this should regain its usual elasticity within a few months.

How much does a breast reduction cost?

As a responsible provider of cosmetic surgery, we understand that everyone’s procedure is different, so our treatment plans are tailored specifically around your unique needs. Because of this, the cost of a breast reduction can vary.

How long does a breast reduction take?

Breast reduction surgery will take around two to four hours, and you’ll be put under general anaesthetic for this procedure. You’ll need to stay in hospital for at least two nights, where you’ll receive high quality care from our nursing team.
How long will I have to stay in hospital after my breast reduction?

You’ll need to stay in hospital for two nights where you’ll be cared for by our nurses. Your surgeon will check that you are fit before you return home.
Will a breast reduction lift my breasts?

Large breasts can often sag due to their weight, causing nipples to point downwards as a result. Breast reduction surgery reduces the size and weight of the breasts, resulting in breasts that are smaller and appear firmer and more lifted. Following breast reduction surgery, your breasts should appear more in proportion to your body. You can discuss the visual aspects of treatment with your surgeon during the free consultation.
When will I be able to see the results from my breast reduction surgery?

Changes should be visible shortly after the breast reduction procedure, but post-operative swelling may prevent you from seeing the end result for some time. Although the swelling will slowly decrease over the weeks after your surgery, it can take up to six months for the full results to be seen. Regular follow-up appointments will help you to monitor the progress of your breast reduction and ensure that the incisions are healing well. Once the swelling has settled, you’ll be able to see the final results.
Will breast reduction surgery leave visible scars?
You should expect some degree of scarring, but the extent of this will depend on where the incisions were made and the type of procedure. The position of any scars generally ensures that they are hidden when you are wearing clothes and after twelve months the scarring should fade significantly. Some of the scars will be concealed along the crease of the breast, but parts of the scar will remain visible.
Will I still be able to breastfeed following a breast reduction?
Breastfeeding may still be an attainable goal following breast reduction surgery and all efforts will be made to preserve milk-producing tissue during the procedure. However, there is a level of risk that breastfeeding following a breast reduction may not be achievable. Such risks and concerns will be discussed in depth by your surgeon at your initial consultation.
How will my breast reduction be impacted by future weight loss or gain?
The size and shape of your breasts should remain consistent, but this cannot be guaranteed if you gain or lose a significant amount of weight in the future. Excessive weight gain or weight loss may result in fluctuations in the shape and size of your breasts. This will be covered in your consultation, but if you have any specific weight goals in mind or concerns surrounding pregnancy, you should discuss this prior to the procedure with your surgeon.
Will reduction surgery correct my uneven breasts?
If you have one breast larger than the other, you may be a good candidate for a breast reduction procedure. While it is common to have one breast that is slightly larger than the other, if there is a significant difference in size, it may be possible to create a more even appearance by having a breast reduction and reducing the size of the larger breast.
Are there age restrictions for breast reduction surgery?
Back, neck and shoulder pain caused by large or oversized breasts can affect people of all ages. The minimum age for breast reduction surgery at Transform is 18. A key consideration when opting to have breast reduction surgery is whether you plan to have children in the future because a breast reduction may impact your ability to breast feed successfully. For this reason we don't typically recommend that a breast reduction is undertaken prior to having children.
What is a nipple graft?
During the breast reduction procedure, a nipple graft may take place depending on the amount of tissue that needs to be removed from the breast. Once the breast is reformed in the desired size and shape, the nipple is positioned in the optimum location and grafted back into place.
Will my breasts lose sensitivity following a reduction?
In some cases, women find that they do experience a loss of nipple sensitivity after a breast reduction. This, and other potential side effects, will be discussed at length during your pre-surgery consultations.
Will I need to have any further surgery following a breast reduction?
Women who have a breast reduction surgery are generally satisfied with the appearance of their breasts and enjoy the increased comfort levels that come with smaller breasts and no further surgical procedures are required. Unlike other breast procedures such as breast enlargement where implants need to be replaced, a breast reduction shouldn't require follow-up procedures to maintain the appearance. Unless you become pregnant or gain a significant amount of weight after a breast reduction, the shape and size of your breasts should remain the same.
What are the different types of rhinoplasty?

Nose reshaping surgeries change the appearance of the nose through shaping and altering bone, cartilage, and tissue. There are a number of types of nose job, with each focused on a different concern. Nose reduction surgery involves removing parts of the nose to reduce its size and change its shape. This is typically a closed rhinoplasty procedure, resulting in no visible scarring and a shorter recovery time. However, the choice of procedure can differ depending on the individual, so closed surgery is not always possible for everyone. Nose augmentation surgery involves taking bone from the hips, elbow, or skull, and cartilage from the ears, and using this to create a graft that reconstructs or builds up part of the nose. Rhinoplasty can also change the shape of the nose without removing or adding bone or tissue. This is done by breaking the nose bone and moving the cartilage and bone into a new position that is then set in place. Septoplasty procedures are used to change the shape of the nasal septum – for aesthetic reasons, or to curtail breathing difficulties – by moving the septum and removing any tissue or cartilage, if needed. Rhinotip (nose tip surgery) correction surgery changes the tip of the nose and nostrils through the alteration of the cartilage. The specific type of nose job that might help you is best decided through a consultation between you and your surgeon. With their expert help, you will be able to further understand the rhinoplasty options available to you, which would best suit you, and what the realistic results will be.

What are the benefits of nose surgery?
While nose surgeries are not recommended for everyone, they can provide several benefits. Firstly, by changing the size or shape of the nose, the face can be given a more harmonious appearance. This can give you more confidence in how you look, and greater self-esteem. Rhinoplasty may also help you breathe more easily, which can improve sleep, stop snoring, allow more intense exercise, and solve sinus problems. And nose surgery can be used to reconstruct the nose and restore its appearance too; remedying a birth defect or fixing a historical nose break that did not heal correctly, for example.
What are the risks of rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasties are medical procedures, so there will always be a slight risk. That said, you can be sure that our experienced, skilled, and regulated surgeons in the UK have performed thousands of nose reshaping surgeries without incident. There is a very slight risk of infection following a nose job, alongside anaesthetic complications, post-operation scars, numbness, pain, or bleeding. Bruising and swelling, while typically not risks in and of themselves, are common after rhinoplasty procedures too. You should always be aware of the risks before you commit to a rhinoplasty procedure. That’s why your advisor will fully explain them all, so you feel as confident and reassured as possible before making your choice. Pre-operation screening will also be conducted, minimising any rhinoplasty risks further.

Our free face-to-face, no-obligation consultations will provide you with a detailed insight into our pricing that lets you know how much your rhinoplasty will cost. While cost may be a key factor in your final decision, the permanent nature of nose surgery means you should consider the level of rhinoplasty care you receive, the clinic’s reputation for patient safety, and the expertise and experience of your rhinoplasty surgeon. That way, you can make sure you minimise the need for follow-up surgeries, and the overall risk of complications.

Can nose surgery help with breathing difficulties?
Yes, nose surgery can be a good option for women with breathing difficulties. Your rhinoplasty surgeon will discuss the symptoms of your breathing problem and examine you so they can advise on the best course of action.
How much time will I need to take off work?
It typically takes up to two weeks for bruising and swelling to reduce once you’ve had your nose surgery, so often our clients will book between a week and a fortnight off work. The amount of time required does depend on how physically demanding your job is, but your rhinoplasty surgeon assistant can discuss this in more detail with you.
Does rhinoplasty require general anaesthesia?
The need for general anaesthesia differs depending on the type of rhinoplasty procedure taking place. Some short nose jobs, such as those occurring on the tip of the nose, only require a local anaesthetic, while those that involve cartilage and bone will usually be performed under general. Whatever you require, we’ll talk you through your options before we book your nose surgery, so you’re completely happy with the type of anaesthetic we recommend.
How long does nose surgery take?
Nose surgery typically takes between one and a half and three hours to complete. That said, the specific duration of your surgery may be shorter or longer, as different procedures take different periods of time. It’s likely you will need to stay overnight in one of our hospitals afterwards, which means a full 24 hours is typically required for the whole nose cosmetic surgery procedure.
How long will I have to stay in hospital after my nose reshaping?
After your nose plastic surgery, you will probably need to stay overnight in one of our hospitals – sometimes for two nights. The need for this differs by procedure, so we’ll talk you through our recommendation before we arrange your surgery.
How long will it take to recover from my nose surgery?
The time it takes to recover from rhinoplasty depends on the person. A dressing is typically worn for the first 12 hours. Any incisions are closed with dissolvable stitches that disappear after a week or so, and you may need to wear a splint across your nose for around a week. Bruising will fade after at least two weeks, and it may take a few months before your nose settles into its altered shape. Patient aftercare is our priority, so whatever your rhinoplasty procedure, we’ll let you know what you should and shouldn’t do to make sure you experience a speedy recovery and optimal results. We’ll check up with you across several post-operative appointments too. These are a chance to make sure your nose job recovery is going well and you’re happy with the end result.
Will there be any scarring from my nose surgery?

Typically, rhinoplasty incisions are made inside the nostrils, which means you won’t see any scars. If your nose job requires open rhinoplasty, your nose surgeon may make an incision in between your nostrils, or on each side of your nostrils. These can leave very fine scars, but usually these are difficult to notice. To make sure you know exactly what to expect in terms of scarring, your surgeon will explain what nose surgery you’ll be having, how it will be performed, and what scars might be formed as a result.

Is nose plastic surgery right for me?
If you are considering nose cosmetic surgery, you need to be sure it is the right choice for you. That’s because nose surgeries are typically irreversible. Changing such a significant aspect of your facial appearance permanently is not a small decision. You need to be aware that perfection is never achieved (through nose reshaping or any other procedure), and that your expectations may differ from the result. How long have you thought about the procedure? Why are you thinking about it now? What will it change in your life? These are the sorts of questions you should ask yourself while consulting with your advisor and surgeon regarding a rhinoplasty. That way, you can be sure it’s the right choice for you over the long term. You should also be sure that you have the correct nose reshaping procedure performed. This is also covered during the consultation period so you can have all the expert knowledge needed to make an informed decision about your health and appearance. To ensure your safety, your advisor will also assess your full medical history. And a pre-operation screening will ensure you have the level of physical fitness required to go ahead with a nose surgery, too.
What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a ‘nose job’, is a type of cosmetic surgery that alters the appearance of the nose. Typically, rhinoplasty surgery involves adjusting or reshaping bone, cartilage and tissue to change the shape and/or size of the nose. There are many different types of nose jobs available which you can find out more about below.
How long will my rhinoplasty last?
Rhinoplasties usually last a lifetime, given that they are permanent. That said, your nose will age as you grow older and the collagen in your tissues breaks down naturally. This can sometimes slightly affect how your nose looks, its structure, or the appearance of any scarring from your nose surgery. Every procedure and person is different, so your consultation will focus on the long-term impact of your rhinoplasty, including how its look might change over time as you age.
WHY CHOOSE TRANSFORM?

When you're thinking about a cosmetic procedure, you need to trust the people you're putting yourself in the care of. At Transform, we help thousands of patients each year to achieve their body goals – and we've been doing so since 1974. Here are a few key reasons to choose us:

HOW DOES LIPOSUCTION WORK?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure where pockets of fat are sucked out of the body. A thin tube called a cannula is inserted into your body through tiny incisions in the skin. After loosening the fat, a suction device is connected to the cannula. Fat can also be removed via syringe. When it's complete, the incisions are sewn up.

What areas can be treated by liposuction?

We can perform liposuction on many parts of the body: stomach, hips, inner and outer thighs, buttocks, knees, neck, jowls, upper arms, male breasts, calves, ankles, or the back. But some areas aren't suitable due to the risk of complications occurring, or the development of contour irregularities. Book a free consultation to find out what's possible with your fat loss ambitions.

IS LIPOSUCTION PERMANENT?

Any fat cells removed during the procedure are removed permanently. If you gain weight after surgery, however, this will create new fat cells. These will usually be found in different parts of your body. To keep your new shape after surgery, you should follow a healthy lifestyle.

HOW MUCH DOES LIPOSUCTION COST IN THE UK?

Each patient's individual procedure is different and is tailored specifically to their needs. As a result, the cost of liposuction can vary. Your surgeon assistant will provide you with this estimate during your free consultation. Of course, cost will be an important factor on whether you proceed with surgery. But you should consider it alongside other factors, such as level of care, patient safety, and surgeon experience.

Can liposuction help me lose weight?

Liposuction is an extremely effective procedure that can provide a shapelier figure and make your body look more in proportion. But it is not a weight loss procedure in itself and is not a treatment for obesity. The amount of fat extracted won't result in significant weight loss.

What it will do, however, is shape problem areas that remain resistant to lifestyle changes. So, if regular exercise and eating a healthy, balanced diet haven't worked so far, you might wish to consider liposuction to help you achieve your body goals.

How long does liposuction surgery take?

Liposuction usually takes between one and three hours – depending on how much fat is being removed and the area that's being treated.

How long will I have to stay in hospital?

After your liposuction surgery, it's possible you can return home on the same day. Equally, you might prefer to stay overnight in one of our hospitals. You can discuss this – among other details – with us before your procedure.

LIPOSUCTION RECOVERY TIME: WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Liposuction recovery time is usually quite quick. You should be able to go back to work after a few days, but we do generally advise that you take a week off to ensure the best recovery.

What is the maximum amount of fat that can be removed during liposuction?

It can be anything between three and four litres of fat per operation. If you need more fat than this removed, our consultants may recommend multiple surgeries. Alternatively, you could also be referred to our sister company The Hospital Group for a weight loss consultation.

HOW LONG WILL I NEED TO WEAR A PRESSURE GARMENT FOR?

This needs to be worn after your liposuction surgery for between one and eight weeks. This is going to depend on the advice you receive from your surgeon.

HOW LONG AFTER LIPOSUCTION WILL I SEE RESULTS?

The results after liposuction are not immediate. But you will begin to see improvements after four weeks and then a constant improvement for up to three months.

IS LIPOSUCTION SAFE?

No surgical procedure is risk-free – but liposuction is no less safe as any other operation. Risks of liposuction can include bruising, loose skin, infection, bleeding after surgery, or irregularities of the skin. Your patient advisor will go through all the details with you, and provide you with a detailed guide so you know what's what.

What's the difference between vaser and surgical liposuction?

Vaser liposuction uses ultrasound to target the fat cells. Traditional surgical liposuction involves making incisions in the skin.

HOW PAINFUL IS LIPOSUCTION SURGERY?

Different people have different pain thresholds, but liposuction isn't usually particularly painful. In rare cases, where you do experience some pain, it can be controlled for a number of days.

DOES LIPOSUCTION LEAVE SCARS?

The scars are small (just a few millimetres in length) and generally fade within a few months.

What happens if I gain weight after liposuction surgery?

If you gain weight after liposuction, the area treated can also gain some of this weight. However, if you keep a healthy lifestyle and diet, you can continue to have the same results post-treatment.

CAN I LIVE WITHOUT MY GALLBLADDER?

The gallbladder is a small organ that is about the size and shape of a pear. Its purpose is to collect bile from the liver. Without the gallbladder, the bile is released straight into your small intestine, meaning that you will still be able to digest the majority of foods. You might need to avoid large amounts of fatty or greasy foods, but you will be able to function normally without your gallbladder.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE SURGERY?

Laparoscopic gall bladder removal begins with up to 4 small incisions made on your abdomen. Then a very small tube is inserted into one of these incisions, and carbon dioxide gas is used to inflate your tummy and make it easier for your surgeon to access the gallbladder. Your surgeon inserts a laparoscope (long telescope with a light and camera at the end) through a larger incision. Your stomach is viewed on a monitor, and special surgical instruments are used to remove your gallbladder.

HOW LONG DOES GALLBLADDER REMOVAL TAKE?

The surgery takes around 1 to 2 hours to complete.

HOW LONG SHOULD I TAKE OFF WORK AFTER GALLBLADDER REMOVAL?

Most people are able to return to work around 2 weeks after their gallbladder surgery, but this depends on the nature of your job. If it involves heavy lifting or manual labour, you might need to take some more time off.

WHEN WILL I BE FULLY RECOVERED?

You should be back to your normal routine within 4 to 6 weeks of your procedure. You might have some pain and discomfort for the first week or so, and you should ensure that you get plenty of rest during this time.

DO I NEED TO EAT A SPECIAL DIET AFTER MY GALLBLADDER IS REMOVED?

After your gallbladder is taken out, you’ll be able to eat a normal, balanced diet. You should try to avoid big meals with a lot of fatty and greasy foods, as these can cause bloating, gas and diarrhoea.

HOW CAN I MAKE MY RECOVERY EASIER?

Try to get your home ready for your return from the hospital, as it will help to make your recovery easier. You might need to think about rearranging your furniture so that you can move around safely. You should make sure that everything is accessible, such as making your bed, chairs and toilet seats higher so that you can avoid straining your hip when you sit down.

You could also stock up on frozen or tinned food before your surgery, so that you will not have to go shopping while you recover for the first few weeks. If possible, ask friends or family to stay with you for a couple of weeks after the surgery.

WHAT NOT TO DO AFTER HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY?

Around eight-to-12 weeks after hip replacement surgery, you can begin to return to most light activities, but you should avoid any high-impact sports such as cycling and tennis until you have fully healed.

For six-to-12 months, pivoting or twisting on the involved leg should be avoided. You should also not cross your leg past the midline of the body, turn the involved leg inward, and you should not bend at the hip past 90 degrees. This includes both bending forward at the waist and squatting.

Once you have made a full recovery, you can have a more active lifestyle. Try not to run on hard surfaces at first, avoiding sports such as squash and tennis. You should also avoid sports with a high risk of falling, such as skiing.

HOW MANY HIP REPLACEMENTS CAN YOU HAVE?

Hip revision surgery is not very common but is sometimes needed to replace your artificial joint if it becomes loose, wears out or breaks. This can be a much more complicated operation than your original hip replacement.

Your surgeon will need to remove the original implants, as well as any cement used to hold them in place. Then they will be able to insert the new implants. Some implants are more difficult to remove than others. If your thigh bone has grown onto the implant, this can also lead to the implant being difficult to remove.

As our bones thin as we age, they are more likely to break (fracture). Your surgeon might need to use a hip replacement part with a longer stem to get a stronger fix into the bone. Your surgeon may have to rebuild the bone in your hip using bone from another part of your body or from your thigh. This is called a bone graft and it may mean that your recover period is extended.

ARE METAL-ON-METAL HIP IMPLANTS SAFE?

Most surgeons no longer use metal-on-metal implants during hip replacement surgery, as they are known to cause problems for some people. Metal debris from the implant can get into the blood, which causes bone loss and loosening of the implant. If you do have a metal-on-metal implant, you should have it checked every year. If you are concerned or if your implant is causing you pain, contact your GP in the first instance.

HOW LONG ARE YOU IN HOSPITAL AFTER A HIP REPLACEMENT?

During your stay in hospital, our care team will try to get you out of bed and on your feet as soon as possible. This might be the same day as your surgery. You will be able to walk with crutches and will be able to go home when our care team are satisfied that you are able to move around safely. This is generally after a few days.

WHAT ABOUT DRIVING AFTER A HIP REPLACEMENT?

Most people are able to drive again after six-to-eight weeks, but you should check this with your surgeon first.

WHEN CAN I GO BACK TO WORK?

If you have a desk-based job, you should be able to return after six-to-eight weeks but, if your role requires any heavy lifting or manual labour, you may need to wait for around 12 weeks before returning to work.

WHEN CAN I DO HOUSEWORK?

You should be able to get back to most daily activities including light chores after six weeks, although you should avoid any heavy lifting or strenuous activity for around three months after your operation.

HOW SOON CAN I FLY AFTER HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY?

You should discuss this with your GP, as your chance of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) increases after surgery. Airlines also have their own regulations regarding passengers who have recently had surgery, so you should check with them in advance of any proposed journey.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF HIP REPLACEMENT?

The type of hip replacement that you might have depends on the extent and cause of the damage.

Total hip replacement: also known as full hip replacement, this is where both the ball and socket are removed and replaced with prosthetic parts. It is the most common type of hip replacement surgery.

Partial hip replacement: also called a hemiarthroplasty, this is where only the femoral head (the ball of the hip) is removed and replaced. This is not usually recommended when the cause if damage is a degenerative condition such as arthritis.

Hip resurfacing: this involves reshaping and replacing damaged surfaces of the bone rather than removing them and is usually carried out on younger patients.

WHY CHOOSE Transform FOR YOUR HIP REPLACEMENT?

HOW LONG DOES A HIP REPLACEMENT LAST?

Hip replacements can last a long time. Data from the NIHR from 2019 suggests that more than 50% of hip replacements last for 25 years, with 85% of total hip replacements lasting for 15 years.

HOW LONG DOES HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY TAKE?

A hip replacement usually takes between one and two hours but this can be dependent upon the type of surgery. Your surgeon will explain for how long you can expect to be in theatre during your consultation.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY?

Your surgeon will make an incision over your hip to enable the removal of the damaged bone. The prosthetic parts will then be implanted. Your surgeon will explain to you the details of the operation and the exact procedure will depend on whether you have a total or partial hip replacement.

WHAT IS THE HIP REPLACEMENT RECOVERY TIME?

After around six weeks of recovery, you should be able to get back to your normal daily activities. However, everyone recovers at their own pace, and this will also depend on your age, fitness level before the operation, and the condition of your hip. Your surgeon will be able to talk you through what your hip replacement surgery recovery time is likely to be.

Many patients ask about walking unaided after a hip replacement and, although everyone is different, this can usually be achieved after around six to eight weeks.

The length of your overall recovery will depend on the extent of your surgery and your individual health. Generally, the total time to recover from hip replacement surgery is up to 12 months.

How much does a breast uplift cost?

As a responsible provider of cosmetic surgery, we understand that everyone’s procedure is different, so our treatment plans are tailored specifically around your unique needs. Because of this, the cost of a breast uplift can vary.

How long does a breast uplift take?
Breast uplift surgery will take around two to four hours, and you’ll be put under general anaesthetic. You’ll need to stay in hospital for around two nights, where you’ll be under our high-quality care from our nursing team.
How long will I have to stay in hospital following my breast uplift?
You’ll probably need to stay in hospital for two nights. Your surgeon will check that you are recovering well before you return home.
When will I be able to see the results from my breast uplift?
Following breast uplift surgery, your breasts will initially be swollen, but the results will be visible straight away. Your breasts should appear in proportion to your body, whilst also appearing lifted and firmer. It may take a few months for your new breasts to settle into their new shape and for any swelling to subside. You can discuss the visual aspects with your surgeon during the free consultation.
What is the recovery time for a breast uplift?
You will be in our hospital for around two nights following the procedure, then we advise you take two weeks off work. At that point, you should be fit to do light activities and return to work, but strenuous exercise and heavy lifting must be avoided for six weeks. We recommend that you don’t drive until you feel comfortable wearing a seatbelt, and it’s best to check with your insurance policy provider to make sure you’re covered. You will be required to wear a support bra without any wiring to support your breasts while they heal - this is an important part of the healing process, and needs to be worn for six weeks.
Will my breasts lose sensitivity following an uplift?
As with any breast procedure that involves incisions, there is a risk of loss of sensitivity when you undergo breast lift surgery, but this can vary from patient to patient. Breast uplift surgery involves the remodelling of the breast tissue and therefore you could experience a change in sensitivity to the nipple area as a result.
Will a breast uplift leave visible scarring?
A breast uplift should leave minimal scarring, and these scars should fade over time. After the surgery, you will find the scars are red, but they should fade to a light pink over the course of 12 months. Efforts will always be made by your surgeon to keep scarring to a minimum.
Will I need any further surgery to retain the shape of my breasts?
Breast uplift surgery is designed to give you long-lasting results. However, over time, the force of gravity and the natural ageing process can cause your breasts to lose their fullness again. As with any surgical procedure, it is important to have realistic expectations, and you can discuss this with your surgeon before the breast uplift surgery.
Can I combine a breast uplift with another breast procedure?
Yes, a breast uplift is often combined with a breast enlargement or breast reduction, depending on your desired results. For a breast enlargement with an uplift, an implant is placed inside the breast tissue to create the appearance of fuller breasts. In the case of a reduction, breast tissue is removed before the skin is removed and tightened to complete the breast uplift.
Are there any age restrictions for breast uplift surgery?
Breast uplift procedures are most common in women who suffer a loss of elasticity and volume after childbirth, but if you are unhappy with the appearance of your breasts, you can consider breast uplift surgery at any age over 18. Your surgeon will make the final decision with regard to eligibility for surgery.
Will I be able to breastfeed following a breast uplift?
As with most breast surgeries, there is a risk that breastfeeding could be affected due to gland or nerve damage during the procedure. Such risks and concerns will be discussed in depth by your surgeon at your initial consultation, and they will always strive to keep any damage to a minimum.

You can expect some swelling and bruising in the first couple of weeks, but this will go down in time.
How long will the results last?
Losing skin elasticity and muscle tone around the eyes is common as we get older, so it is important to understand that the ageing process will not stop even after the eyelid or eye lift. During your medical consultation, your surgeon will discuss the results you can expect to achieve.

What happens in a tummy tuck procedure?
Your procedure will differ based on whether you have a full tummy tuck or a mini abdominoplasty. During a full tummy tuck operation, your surgeon will make a curved incision along the base of your abdomen between your hips, just above your pubic area. Excess skin and fat will be separated from the abdominal muscles and removed, as well as your tummy button. The muscles will then be realigned and tightened. A second incision will also be made to re-position your belly button in the remaining skin, which will be moved downwards and attached to the base of your abdomen. A mini tummy tuck surgery (or partial abdominoplasty) involves a shorter incision being made across the base of your stomach. Excess skin and fat are separated from the muscles and removed, before being stitched down to the base of your abdomen.
What are the benefits of a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck is a significant procedure, but it can bring lasting benefits for women who have tried all the less invasive means of losing weight and skin open to them. Firstly, mini and full abdominoplasties remove excess skin and stretch marks that can be detrimental to self-image and confidence. By creating a flatter, more toned look, the surgery can provide a clear boost in quality of life post-weight loss or after pregnancy. Alongside this, an abdominoplasty may also help you keep on track with your weight loss goals and support a healthy and active lifestyle, thanks again to the improved appearance of your abdomen. If the abdominal muscles are tightened, as is the case with a full tummy tuck, muscular flexibility and posture can be improved over the long term, helping exercise and back pain issues. The formation of hernias can be reduced too, as well as problems with bladder and bowel function, such as stress urinary incontinence. And due to the removal of fat and skin during a tummy tuck, the potential for conditions such as heart disease, gallbladder disease, gallstones, sleep apnoea, and diabetes can be reduced.
What are the risks of a tummy tuck?
While tummy tuck surgery is routinely performed by our experienced surgeons, all types of surgery come with a level of risk. And to ensure complete understanding, anyone considering an abdominoplasty should know the risks and possible side effects. Abdominoplasty side effects typically include pain, stomach cramps, bruising, swelling, post-surgery bleeding, numbness around the scar, and skin irregularities. As with any major operation, there is also the risk of complications related to the use of general anaesthesia and infections, though these are rare. Thankfully, the decades of experience our specialist surgeons possess ensures that all these risks are minimised as much as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, your surgeon assistant will talk you through all the possible risks associated with tummy tuck surgery in detail, providing you with in-depth guidance and answers to any and every question you may have.
Is tummy tuck surgery right for me?
Tummy tucks are not considered safe for everyone. They are only typically performed on post-pregnancy or weight-loss patients who have a large amount of excess skin that is troubling them. Patients must also be over 18 and be fit and well. Patients should ideally have achieved a stable goal weight and have a healthy lifestyle and diet. That means if you are prone to gaining and losing large amounts of weight quickly, or intend to have more children, abdominoplasty surgery might not be the best option. This is because putting on excess weight can reverse the appearance achieved by the procedure. To make sure that a tummy tuck is right for you, your surgeon will consult with you thoroughly before you decide on whether to go ahead with the procedure. They will look at your abdominal fat, skin, and muscle, and will talk you through all available options.
Can you have a baby after a tummy tuck?
While having a baby is a safe thing to do after a tummy tuck, the stretching of the abdominal skin and muscles can sometimes reverse the effects of the procedure and require surgical revision. Every patient is different, but it is usually advised that women complete their families before having the procedure.

What is a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck is a form of cosmetic surgery which is designed to make the abdomen appear slimmer and firmer. The technical term for tummy tuck is abdominoplasty and it typically involves removing excess or loose skin that can’t be reduced through exercise. Most women seek abdominoplasty post-pregnancy or after weight loss if they feel they have excess loose skin. It’s important to note that tummy tucks are not a weight loss solution and they won’t replace a healthy diet and lifestyle.
How will I feel after my tummy tuck surgery?
Your tummy will feel sore after abdominoplasty surgery, and you should expect to see some bruising and swelling for a few months following your procedure. Pain relief will be provided during your hospital stay, and we will give you advice on how to manage discomfort and reduce swelling.
When can I do exercise after a tummy tuck?
You’ll need to avoid exercise after your tummy tuck surgery for at least six weeks. This is because you must give your body time to heal. We usually recommend resting as much as possible so that you can help your abdominoplasty recovery. It can also be a good idea to get help around the house to reduce the chance of injury.
Will I have any tummy tuck scars following surgery?
Tummy tuck operations almost always leave scars, usually across the lower abdomen. Most people find that this scarring can be hidden by underwear, and it will fade over time. For full tummy tuck patients, a scar around the belly button is also common. The length of time it takes for tummy tuck scars to fade varies, but it can take up to a year after surgery before you can see the final appearance of your scar.
Is a hair transplant safe?
Yes, hair transplants are a common procedure and are carried out by our expert surgeons, who have a wealth of experience and knowledge.
How does hair transplant work?
A hair transplant works by taking hair follicles from one part of the head and placing them into the skin of the area that is either bald or thinning. The new follicles will settle in and start to grow hair in the place where it was lost, giving you a restored hairline.
Who is suitable for a hair transplant?
Hair transplants are suitable for men and women of all ages. Your surgeon will determine whether you’re suitable for the treatment by taking details of your medical history.
Is hair transplant surgery painful?
Having a hair transplant isn’t pain-free, but any soreness wears off after a couple of days and then you’ll be able to resume your regular activities.
What is the recovery time for hair transplant?
We advise taking a few days off work until your scalp has started to heal, and we recommend that you don’t participate in strenuous activity or wash your hair for 2 days.
Who is PRP suitable for?
PRP therapy is suitable for anyone who is fit and healthy and would like to boost their complexion or improve hair growth on the scalp. People who should consider alternative treatments are those who are pregnant, or have active acne or blood disorders.
What does a PRP treatment involve?
PRP is a minimally-invasive treatment that takes around 30-45 minutes using the platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. Your practitioner will extract blood from your arm, like a standard blood test. The blood is then placed into a centrifuge and spun for 10 minutes to separate the platelets and plasma from the other blood components. Your practitioner will inject the platelet-rich plasma into the desired area, whether it be scalp or face.
How quickly can I see the results of PRP?
You’ll notice the results within 3 weeks of treatment. A course of treatment may be required depending on your skin condition.
Can I carry on with my normal life while having PRP?
Yes, there is minimal downtime after the treatment although your skin may feel sore. Any soreness and swelling will subside within 2 days.
Is PRP safe?

How much does mole or cyst removal cost?

The cost of your mole or cyst removal treatment will depend on the number of growths that need removed. Our surgeon assistant will give you a detailed breakdown of the cost involved.

How long does mole/cyst removal take?
The procedure can take around 30 minutes, depending on the number of moles and/or cysts which are being removed. A topical anaesthetic will be applied 5-10 minutes prior to treatment.
Is the treatment painful?
You won’t feel any pain during the treatment because of the topical anaesthetic which will be applied to the area. It may feel slightly sore afterwards when this has worn off, but any mild pain after the procedure can be treated with over the counter painkillers.
Will mole or cyst removal leave a scar?
Your surgeon will work carefully to minimize scarring during the procedure, and while it is usually minimal, you may have a small, faint scar that will fade in time.
Are there any after effects or side effects?
While it is very rare to experience side effects with mole and cyst removal, there is a risk of infection, bleeding and scarring. Our highly experienced clinicians will talk you through the risks involved before you decide whether you wish to go ahead with the procedure.
Which skin conditions do you treat?
We offer treatment for Moles brown or black growths on the skin. Cysts sacs filled with fluid or semi-fluid material. Skin tags small protruding pieces of skin that can grow in the groin area, armpits, neck and eyelids. Skin lesions surface growths or patches of the skin that don't resemble the skin around it. Lentigines, small dark spots on the skin that can be a genetic condition caused by excessive radiation or sun exposure
Who will perform the treatment?
This procedure is commonly performed by our resident Dermatologist, who will remove the mole, cyst, skin tag or lesion, and send it for analysis to ensure that there are no abnormal cells. Our experienced doctors will then complete the procedure by inserting small stitches.
Is any aftercare required?
You'll be able to leave the clinic as soon as your treatment has been completed, and you should be fine to go about your normal day-to-day activities. You'll need to keep the wound dry for two days and you'll be advised to return to the clinic to have your stitches removed 7-10 days post-treatment.
How much will the procedure cost?

The cost of your scar revision procedure will vary depending on the size of the scar. Our medical aesthetics practitioner will talk you through the likely costs involved.

How does surgical scar revision work?
Surgical scar reduction is carried out by making incisions on either side of the scar to remodel the surrounding skin. Depending on the location of the scar, it can be made into a skin fold so that it’s less noticeable. While there will still be some visible scarring, it should look much neater and less obvious.
What are my non-surgical scar revision options?
Non-surgical scar revision/reduction options include cool laser, TCA peels, microneedling, fillers and steroid injections. A combination of these are sometimes used, and you can learn more about them in your discussion with your medical aesthetics practitioner.
Are the results permanent?
The results of scar reduction are permanent, but you will have scarring from the revision. The goal is to create a neater and tidier scar that’s less conspicuous than it previously was.
Does scar revision hurt?
You won’t be able to feel anything throughout a surgical scar revision procedure as it’s carried out under local anaesthetic, but you will feel some pain and have some swelling for a couple of weeks afterwards while the wound heals. Non-surgical treatments will also be pain free. Because different types of anaesthetics will be used depending upon which is the best option for you, your medical anaesthetic practitioner will discuss this at your initial consultation.

What’s the difference between liposuction and Vaser liposuction?

Traditional liposuction uses a laser pulse or pressurised water jet to break up the fat cells. The surgeon would then insert a suction tube called a cannula to remove the fat, then stitch up the area.

Another type of liposuction know as Vaser lipo uses targeted ultrasound technology, making it easier to remove the fat without disrupting surrounding cells or tissue. Vaser lipo means smaller incisions are made to suction the fat cells, and these often don’t require stitches. For surgical Vaser lipo, you will need around four to five days before you can return to work for non-physical work, whereas non-surgical Vaser lipo is even less invasive and so you need very little recovery time.

What areas can be treated with Vaser lipo?

Vaser lipo can treat any area of the body, but popular areas are the male chest, stomach, ‘love handles’, buttocks, thighs, knees and chin. Multiple areas can be treated during one procedure. Your surgeon or surgeon assistant will advise the best course of action for treating multiple parts of the body.

After Vaser liposuction will the fat move to other areas?
The fat cells that have been removed will be permanently gone from the area that has been treated but, ideally, you’ll maintain your weight post-procedure to prevent new fat cells from growing. As a responsible provider of cosmetic surgery, we understand that everyone’s procedure is different, so our treatment plans are tailored specifically around your unique needs. Because of this, the vaser liposuction pricing can vary, depending on the areas you’re having treated.

How safe is Vaser liposuction compared to traditional liposuction?
Vaser liposuction is a safer alternative for fat removal as the method used is significantly less invasive than traditional liposuction. As with all surgery, there are risks involved which we will talk you through during your consultation before you make your decision regarding Vaser lipo.
What is Vaser liposuction?
Vaser lipo is a fat removal procedure that uses ultrasound technology to target unwanted fat cells. It offers an easy way for the surgeon to remove fat without causing bleeding or performing invasive surgery, making it a popular choice among women who aspire to a more sculptured physique. At Transform, we offer two different types of Vaser liposuction – Vaser surgery and non-surgical Vaser lipo. During your consultation, your surgeon will be able to discuss the right option for you depending on the area you’d like treated and the results you’d like to achieve.
What does vaser liposuction involve?
Vaser liposuction uses ultrasound to target the fat cells, which is an easier way for the surgeon to remove fat without bleeding or invasive surgery.
What are the benefits of Vaser liposuction?
Vaser lipo is a highly effective way to reduce the amount of fat in stubborn areas and deliver a better reduction of the skin. One of the main benefits of Vaser liposuction is it requires minimal invasion, so bruising, bleeding and scarring is often reduced compared to traditional liposuction. It’s suitable for both large and small parts of the body, and our surgeons may be able to work on multiple areas during one procedure. Another benefit of our non-invasive Vaser lipo method is that it can be performed using local anaesthetic – meaning recovery time is quicker and you may be discharged from our clinic earlier than you would following general anaesthetic.
Who makes a good candidate for Vaser liposuction?
If you have some localised areas of fat that don’t respond to diet and exercise, Vaser liposuction may be suitable. During your consultation, you can discuss why you’re interested in having Vaser lipo, the results you’d like and your medical history with your surgeon. They’ll then let you know if they think this is the right procedure for you and whether Vaser surgery or the non-invasive method would be most suitable.
How long does Vaser liposuction take?
Vaser liposuction usually takes between one and three hours, depending on how much fat has to be removed and the area being treated.
What are the benefits of vaser liposuction?
Vaser liposuction will reduce the amount of fat in stubborn areas and deliver a better reduction of the skin.
What is the maximum amount of fat that can be removed during Vaser lipo?
This can be anything between three and four litres of fat per operation. For anything more than this, we would recommend multiple surgeries.
What are the risks and complications of Vaser liposuction?
If you’re thinking about having Vaser, it’s important to have a full understanding of the risks and complications that may arise. While our expert surgeons have a huge amount of expertise and experience with these procedures, all types of surgery carry a level of risk. For Vaser liposuction these include bruising, loose skin, infection, bleeding after surgery, and irregularities of the skin. Your surgeon assistant will go through all the details and answer any questions you have, as well as providing you with a guide.
Will I have to stay in hospital following Vaser liposuction?
This will depend on the type of Vaser liposuction you choose to have. For instance, if you have non-invasive Vaser lipo and a local anaesthetic, you may be able to return home the same day. On the other hand, if you have a long surgery under general anaesthetic, you may need to stay overnight in one of our purpose-built hospitals − but rest assured, they have the highest quality facilities and are all CQC registered. We’ll discuss what we think is best with you before we book your surgery.
How long will I need off work after Vaser fat removal surgery?
The amount of time it takes you to recover following Vaser fat removal surgery will depend on several factors, such as the type of anaesthetic you had and the area you had treated. Usually, the recovery time after Vaser liposuction is quite quick and you should be able to go back to work after a few days.
What level of pain can I expect during and after the procedure?
You will either be given a local or general anaesthetic for your Vaser liposuction, so you won’t feel any pain throughout the procedure. It’s likely you’ll be a bit sore during your recovery, but any pain can be controlled, and we’ll discuss aftercare with you during your consultation. Of course, different people have different thresholds of pain, but usually Vaser liposuction recovery isn’t particularly painful.
Will I need to wear a pressure garment and for how long?
Yes, you will need to wear a pressure garment post-surgery for between two and six weeks, depending on the advice of your surgeon. This is an essential part of the healing process following your Vaser lipo, and your nurse will talk you through how to wear it and other aftercare tips before you head home.
What will the Vaser lipo scars be like?
Typically, Vaser lipo scars are small (just a few millimetres in length) and generally fade within a few months.
What happens if I gain wait after Vaser surgery?
If you gain weight after Vaser liposuction, the area treated can also gain some of this weight. However, if you keep to a healthy lifestyle and diet, you can continue to have the same results post-treatment. It’s important to note that Vaser lipo is not intended as a quick fix for weight loss and should be undertaken when you’re at your optimal weight.
Does Vaser lipo tighten skin?
Many of our patients ask “does Vaser lipo tighten skin?” and while it does help to firm looseness, it cannot effectively remove large areas of excess skin. If this is a concern for you, you can discuss this with your surgeon assistant or surgeon who’ll be happy to recommend the right course of treatment.

WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK AFTER MY TRIGGER FINGER OPERATION?

Most people can return to their usual working routine within a few days after trigger finger surgery, especially if they work in an office setting. However, it may take up to three weeks before you can return to more labour-intensive roles.

CAN YOU HAVE CARPAL TUNNEL AND TRIGGER FINGER SURGERY AT THE SAME TIME?

Some research, such as a scientific paper from 2015, has found that trigger finger can happen as a complication of carpal tunnel surgery. However, operating on both at the same time isn’t commonly performed. As such, we would always recommend having the surgeries individually.

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL RECOVERY TIME FOR TRIGGER FINGER SURGERY?

For the first 48 hours after trigger finger treatment, you should try to elevate your hand as much as possible. To help aid your recovery further, you should attempt to keep the impacted finger or fingers moving and be sure to exercise their flexibility. Keeping your fingers in motion and practicing daily exercises like forming a fist with your fingers before releasing them helps reduce internal scarring. Hand therapy or physiotherapy may be recommended after treatment.

HOW LONG AFTER TRIGGER FINGER SURGERY WILL I BE ABLE TO DRIVE?

You might feel some pain in your palm following your trigger finger surgery. This may make driving difficult and dangerous. While this pain should subside within a couple of weeks, you should not return to driving before you feel comfortable doing so safely, without pain or discomfort.

Are there any risks?
As with all surgical procedures, there are some risks attached, but we'll fully explain these to you so you can feel as confident and reassured before going ahead.
How much does mole or cyst removal cost?

The cost of your mole or cyst removal treatment will depend on the number of growths that need removed. Our surgeon assistant will give you a detailed breakdown of the cost involved.

While scarring is minimal from the techniques used in the procedure, you may have a small, faint scar that will fade in time.

Which skin conditions do you treat?
We offer treatment for: Moles brown or black growths on the skin. Cysts sacs filled with fluid or semi-fluid material. Who will perform the skin tag, cyst or mole removal procedure?
This procedure is commonly performed by our resident dermatologist who will remove the mole, cyst, skin tag or lesion and send it for analysis to ensure there are no abnormal cells. Our experienced doctors will then complete the cyst or mole removal procedure by inserting small stitches.
Is any cyst or mole removal aftercare required?
You’ll be able to leave the clinic as soon as your treatment has been completed, and you should be fine to go about your normal day-to-day activities. You’ll need to keep the wound dry for two days and you’ll be advised to return to the clinic to have your stitches removed 7-10 days post-treatment. During your consultation, your patient advisor will be able to speak with you in detail about mole, ganglion or sebaceous cyst removal aftercare and what you should or shouldn’t do following the procedure.
