Medical Aesthetics: Transform have partnered with the JCCP

We’ve said it before, we’ll say it a thousand times. Medical aesthetics treatments like dermal fillers and injectables should always be performed by a qualified nurse practitioner or doctor in a clinical environment no matter what and we really can’t emphasise this enough.

Here at Transform, we are dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care to our patients as well as contributing to improving the standards within the medical aesthetics sector as a whole wherever we can – and this is important now more than ever.

As aesthetic treatments are becoming more and more popular we’ve seen a concerning rise in under-qualified practitioners offering cut-price lip and cheek fillers from non-clinical environments such as beauty salons and even their own homes.

We are delighted to announce that we are the very first national provider to join the JCCP and hope that other providers will follow suit so that standards are raised and recognised across our industry.

Our commitment to safe medical aesthetics treatments

In order to tackle the lack of regulation within the medical aesthetics industry, we have joined forces with the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (or JCCP) to drive up standards so everyone can start their treatment journey with confidence in the practitioner, the clinic and the standard of care being delivered.

What is the JCCP?

Launched in February 2018, the main aim of the JCCP is for everyone to be more informed about the risks associated with medical aesthetic treatments, particularly when it comes to fillers and other injectables so they can make a fully informed decision.

The JCCP also provides a Practitioner Register to clearly identify safe and appropriately trained practitioners who practise in these specialist areas.

The concept of the JCCP was envisioned by the Department of Health and was instigated by Health Education England on behalf of NHS England and the Department of Health. As a charitable and not-for-profit organisation, its overall goal is to improve patient safety and public protection.

In order to achieve these aims, the JCCP has now established a Government (Professional Standards Authority or PSA) approved Practitioner Register and a Register of Approved Education and Training Providers.

What does the JCCP partnership mean to you?

The JCCP will provide a much-needed marker of quality for ALL practitioners carrying out medical aesthetics, whether that be laser hair removal or anti-wrinkle injections, so that everyone can have complete confidence in the safety and standards of their treatment.

As a Transform patient, our partnership means that:

  • Our Transform regulated practitioners who administer medical aesthetics treatments will join the JCCP Practitioner Register and sign up to the JCCP and the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority Joint Code of Practice.
  • Transform practitioners will also be individually identified on the JCCP Register so that you can be 100% assured that their professional competence and qualifications meet with JCCP and CPSA standards, by identifying them using a search facility on the JCCP website.

Professor David Sines, Executive Chair of the JCCP said,

‘The JCCP is delighted to announce its first major partnership with a national chain of clinics providing medical aesthetics treatments – Transform.

We are both totally committed to the need to raise awareness amongst patients of the importance of recognizing risks attached to some of these treatments and to only go to a recognised practitioner. We both share the primary aim of enhancing public protection and patient safety’.
