Relationships forged through our NHS partnership

Transform continues to assist the NHS by delivering services to those patients who need it most. Our Interim Hospital Manager, Judith Timmins, talks about some of the procedures we're performing and how strong relationships have developed.

"Our relationship with the NHS began last summer, when we took care of step down patients which allowed beds in the NHS to be freed up. Since then we’ve had a great partnership with our NHS colleagues, from surgeons to physiotherapists, and we’ve carried out a range of surgeries for both day and overnight patients, including dermatology, hand and arm procedures and carpal tunnel surgery.

Helping reduce NHS waiting lists is important to us, because we know that many patients who are waiting for treatment will feel that their life is on hold until they can have the procedure they need. While our own patients choose to have treatment, NHS patients need to have it, so we have cleared our own lists to free up space in our theatres for them.

In the early days of our NHS partnership, it’s fair to say that people in our teams were slightly nervous, as some were refreshing skills that they hadn’t used in a number of years. Any fears were quickly allayed, though, once the partnership had begun. Great relationships and bonds have been forged.

The feedback has been fantastic, not just from our colleagues and the NHS staff we have worked with, but from our NHS patients too – they are incredibly grateful to be able to have the treatment they require when they know that the health service is under increasing pressure.

We’re looking forward to working further with trusts both locally and nationally so that we can continue to help NHS patients receive treatment as quickly as possible."
