Abel Mounir

Dr Mounir is a highly experienced and skilled plastic surgeon who has a diverse wealth of experience across a range of cosmetic procedures. He has been dedicated to cosmetic surgery and skin health for over 20 years, and is a fully accredited specialist consultant plastic surgeon who is listed on the General Medical Council’s specialist register for plastic surgery. His surgical specialities are cosmetic breast augmentation, breast reduction, liposuction, abdominoplasty (the so-called tummy tuck procedure) and nose reshaping (rhinoplasty). 

Dr Mounir is a former NHS plastic surgery doctor at the Countess of Chester Hospital and an Honorary Fellow at the Burney Breast Unit, which is located at St Helens Hospital. Mr Mounir’s latest scientific publications related to breast cosmetic surgery and nose reshaping surgery and were published in the European Journal of Plastic surgery. 

Having achieved his Medical Doctorate in Algiers, Algeria, he continued his postgraduate studies in Canada at the University de Montreal, where he gained his Masters degree in Neuroscience. In 1993, he travelled to Germany and undertook plastic and reconstructive surgery training in order to specialise in this area. After receiving his board certification, Dr Mounir returned to Canada and studied with some of Toronto’s leading plastic cosmetic surgeons to gain additional experience. 

In the following years he returned to Germany to open a cosmetic practice, and for the last 20 years he has operated in the UK, continuing to use his specialist skills to benefit his patients. In addition, Dr Mounir has written and contributed to many publications relating to facial and breast cosmetic surgery procedures. He has also been an invited speaker at a range of international cosmetic surgery congress meetings during his career.
