Time to focus on you

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that encourages your skin to produce more collagen and elastin – helping you achieve fresh,  glowing, collagen-rich skin.

The treatment involves creating small micro punctures in the skin using tiny needles, which is followed by the application of a topical skin solution to treat pigmentation, ageing or scarring. The skin will then begin to heal itself and during this process, new cells are produced.

We’re all a work in progress

Microneedling can combat the visible signs of ageing, pigmentation, sun damage, stretch marks and acne scarring. It’s also effective in rejuvenating the skin and improving its tone and texture.

The production of new cells is stimulated by the procedure, meaning your skin will have a more even appearance and look healthier overall.

Let’s delve into the detail

As with all medical aesthetic treatments, it’s important to weigh up the risks involved against the benefits that the treatment can bring.

Your medical aesthetic practitioner will talk you through any risks and complications. Microneedling is very low risk, but can sometimes lead to tenderness, redness, and flaking skin.

Ready to believe in the best you?

Microneedling is suitable for patients with skin conditions which aren’t improving with skin care products. It can be used for most skin types and conditions, and your medical aesthetician will assess your skin to see if the treatment is right for you.

You might be suffering from acne scarring, pigmentation, or sun damage that needs breaking down and given a collagen boost from the inside. Microneedling is also suitable if you want to refresh tired and dull skin, achieving a more even skin tone.

FAQ

Microneedling FAQs

More FAQs
Are microneedling results permanent?
Microneedling isn’t a permanent solution because the skin is always changing, but depending on the skin issues you have, multiple treatments can be performed to achieve the desired result.
Is microneedling painful?
Microneedling isn’t overly painful and the use of a topical anaesthetic will help to manage any discomfort.
How does microneedling work?
Microneedling works by making small punctures in the skin using tiny needles. The micro channels heal themselves, and this process produces new collagen and elastin which creates fresh new skin with an even texture and tone.
How many microneedling treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you need will be based on your skin concerns. As a guide, if you have tired and dull skin, one treatment would be effective in restoring brightness. But if you have deep acne scarring, multiple treatments will be required to see results.
Which skin conditions can microneedling treat?
Microneedling is effective in treating fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scars, body scars, stretch marks and open pores, and can improve the overall tone and texture of the skin.
What topical solutions are used?
At Transform, we use the c.prof range of products from mesoestetic which has treatments for depigmentation, anti-ageing and scarring.
What skin conditions can microneedling treat?
Our microneedling treatment can help to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduce acne scarring and help treat hyperpigmentation resulting from sun damage.
What happens during a microneedling treatment?
Following your consultation, your aesthetician will cleanse the area to be treated. Using the EDS Dermastamp your aesthetician will start the microneedling technique combined with the soliton chosen depending on what skin condition being treated. Microneedling is then performed again following the same path, but in different directions. Post treatment, your aesthetician will apply a mask to soothe, repair and decongest the skin.
Where can microneedling be used?
The microneedling treatment can be used across all areas of the face including the forehead, cheeks, chin, nose and under eye area.
Are there any side effects?
Following your microneedling treatment, you experience some redness, tenderness to the skin and flaking which can last up to 72 hours, but will subside after this. We recommend using sun protection following your treatment and do not exfoliate as this may irritate the skin.
Can I go back to normal activity following treatment?
After treatment no make-up should be worn for the first 48 hours. For the first 14 days, you should avoid using any hair removal products, waxing, using sunbeds, swimming or self-tan products.

We're ready when you are

Your first appointment

Now’s the time to talk to your medical aesthetician, with absolutely no obligation to go ahead. You can discuss your expectations and find out if you’re a suitable candidate for the procedure, as well as chatting through benefits and risks. You’ll be able to talk to them about why you’re considering treatment, the likely costs of microneedling, and when you’d like your appointment. If you feel ready, we’ll then book you in for your treatment.

Your treatment consultation

On the day of your procedure, you’ll have time to ask any last-minute questions before treatment begins. It will take around an hour, and your practitioner will apply a topical anaesthetic to reduce the sensation of the microneedling. Once this has taken effect, you practitioner will begin to work the pen-like tool across your face in a sequence to achieve an even result.

Once the tool has made tiny channels in the skin, a topical solution will be applied that can treat pigmentation, ageing or scarring, depending on what your particular concerns are. The shafts that have been made will begin to heal themselves within the same day, producing new collagen and elastin cells that your skin may have lost. Your practitioner will apply a soothing balm to trigger the healing process and cool the skin down.

The treatment

You’ll be able to leave the clinic on the same day as you have the treatment. It’s normal to experience mild discomfort and swelling afterwards, but this will subside during the following days.

Recovery

You’ll be able to leave the clinic on the same day as you have the treatment. It’s normal to experience mild discomfort and swelling afterwards, but this will subside during the following days.

Aftercare

We believe that high quality aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself, so we’re here to support you. If you have any questions or concerns at all, you can contact your medical aesthetician. You’ll be safe to continue with your regular activities after the treatment. We strongly advise avoiding heat treatments, such as saunas and steam rooms within the first 2 days of treatment as your skin will have some enhanced sensitivity. We also advise that you don’t apply makeup for about a day, and resist touching your face as much as possible as this could lead to bacteria entering the skin. You may experience some flaking of the skin, but don’t worry, this is a natural part of the healing process.
