The treatment
On the day of your surgery, you’ll meet with your surgeon so you can go through any last-minute questions. We offer two types of hair transplant at Transform.
The first is Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), a treatment sometimes known as “strip harvesting”. An area of healthy hair is transplanted onto an area of hair loss to stimulate hair growth, and you should start to see results a few months after treatment. FUT is suitable for people with longer hair, and it’s usually carried out in one half-day session.
A second option is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). This is a form of hair transplant that takes individual hair follicles from the back of the scalp. Fine incisions are made in the area of hair loss or thinning hair, and the follicle is inserted. It’s different from FUT in that there is no linear scarring, but there are smaller, individual scars, and so it can be more suitable for those who wear their hair short. There’s also a comparably shorter downtime for this procedure.
