While wrinkles are a natural process of ageing, prolonged sun exposure, smoking, pollution and squinting at monitors can take their toll on the skin around your eyes and forehead. As you age, your face starts to develop wrinkles as the collagen and elastin fibres break down, causing the skin to lose its firm, smooth texture.
If you’re concerned about the signs of ageing, then our medical aesthetics practitioners can devise a personalised anti-wrinkle treatment plan which will help your skin appear tighter and smoother. One of the ways to achieve this is to have anti-wrinkle injections. Our medical aesthetic practitioners will administer an injectable medical product which is used to temporarily smooth out fine lines and wrinkles on the face.
Anti-wrinkle injections may also be used as a very effective treatment for platysmal neck bands by improving the look of the neck through tightening, and for giving a soft, gentle lift to the top lip, known as a ‘lip flip’.
Anti-wrinkle injections can improve the signs of ageing by reducing overactive facial muscles. If you’re concerned about crow’s feet, wrinkles and frown lines, they can be softened, resulting in a fresher, more youthful appearance.
You’ll be able to see the results between 5-14 days of the treatment, and it will last for up to 4 months. Performed by our medical aesthetic practitioners, the treatment is fast and effective, taking 15 minutes. There’s minimal downtime, so you won’t have to take any time off work.
As with all medical aesthetic treatments, it’s important to weigh up the risks involved against the benefits that the treatment can bring. Your medical aesthetic practitioner will talk you through all the risks and complications of the treatment.
Side effects are usually minimal, but you may experience mild bruising around the injection site, a headache that should subside within the first 24 hours, and allergic reaction is possible, although rare.
If you’re concerned about the signs of ageing or want to prevent premature wrinkles, anti-wrinkle injections could give you the refreshed, youthful look you desire. Whether you want to improve the appearance of wrinkles around your eyes or diminish frown lines on your forehead, anti-wrinkle injections can help you look younger and feel more confident about your appearance.
Your medical aesthetic practitioner will determine whether you’re a suitable candidate for the treatment by taking details of your medical history, as well as discussing realistic expectations.

We’re ready when you are
Your first appointment
Initially, you’ll meet your surgeon assistant. You’ll be able to talk to them about why you’re considering treatment, the likely costs of anti-wrinkle treatment, finance options, and when you’d like your appointment. If you feel ready, we’ll then book you in for your free consultation with one of our professional practitioners or nurses.
Your treatment consultation
At your free consultation, your surgeon assistant or nurse will ask you about the results you want to achieve. They’ll guide you through your treatment options and create a personal anti-ageing treatment plan for you to ensure you achieve the best results. It may be that we’ll recommend an alternative treatment type – like chemical facial peels, microdermabrasion or skin tightening – that we think will better suit your needs.
You can discuss every aspect of your wrinkle treatment with no obligation to go ahead. Our surgeon assistants and nurses are extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you have. If you feel ready to proceed, we can book your treatment in for a date and time that suits you.
On the day of your treatment, you’ll be able to go through any last-minute questions with your practitioner or nurse. They’ll apply a numbing cream to the areas where you will be injected. Once it’s taken effect, your practitioner will use a very fine needle to carefully complete the series of small injections. This usually takes about 15 minutes in total and, although it may be a little uncomfortable, it shouldn’t hurt. The injections temporarily relax the facial muscles to smooth out lines and wrinkles. Your treatment may involve injections to the forehead, in between the eyebrows, in crow’s feet, and/or other areas, as agreed with your practitioner.
You’ll be able to leave the clinic as soon as your treatment has been completed, and you should be fine to go about your normal day-to-day activities. You’ll just need to avoid tilting your head forwards for a while and avoid exercise for the next 24 hours. If you experience discomfort in your face, you can take painkillers to ease this. It can sometimes take a few days for the muscles to relax and for the results to become visible.
We believe that the highest quality aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself, so we’re here to support you. If you have any questions or concerns at all, you can contact our 24/7 helpline.
Line and wrinkle treatments can be very effective and last up to 4 months, depending on the individual patient. After your initial treatment, the effects of future treatments should last longer as your muscles are already trained to relax. If you’re looking to maintain a youthful and rejuvenated appearance, a top-up treatment is usually recommended every 4 months.
