How much do lip fillers cost?
The cost of your lip fillers will depend on how much filler is being used during the treatment. This can be discussed with your medical aesthetic practitioner at your free consultation.
How long do lip fillers take?
The treatment can be carried out within 30-45 minutes.
Lip fillers can feel slightly uncomfortable during the treatment and there may be some swelling/bruising in the area afterwards. The swelling should subside after 2 days, with the bruising taking a little longer. Over the counter painkillers can be taken to reduce any mild discomfort.
Are there any after effects or side effects?
The side effects of lip fillers are minimal, but may include swelling, bruising and redness. These should subside within 2 days.
How long do lip fillers last?
Lip fillers can last between 6-12 months. We recommend having lip fillers topped up to maintain volume - you can discuss how frequently you will need you top ups at your free consultation.
Lip fillers, also known as lip filler injections or lip augmentation, are non-surgical cosmetic procedures designed to add volume to the lips. The process involves injecting a solution into the lips using a very fine needle. Although not permanent, lip filler is an effective way to add fulness to the lips over an extended period, with results usually lasting between 6-12 months. Exactly how long lip fillers last can vary, depending on the types of lip fillers used and your lifestyle.
Who will perform the lip filler treatment?
Lip filler injections are only ever administered by our fully qualified, highly trained aesthetic nurses and doctors. All our practitioners are registered with the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners, which means they have the right qualifications and skills to perform your treatment. Our expert team is committed to providing the highest standard of care to patients – so you can book your lip line fillers with confidence, knowing you’re in the best hands.
Will my lips look noticeably different?
It's up to you how much of a change you want to achieve. Some of our clients are just looking to make a subtle change, while others want much fuller lips. We'll talk to you about the look you want and let you know our recommendations.
So, how do lip fillers work, exactly? Essentially, filler solution is injected beneath the skin, which plumps up the lips and helps to improve definition. The types of lip fillers we use at Transform are made of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring acid that our skin cells produce to keep skin moisturised and healthy. Sometimes our environment, the products we use, and the natural ageing process mean our levels of hyaluronic acid can decrease. This may lead to dry, dull skin, and lines and wrinkles. This is where lip filler injections come in, filling the skin with hyaluronic acid to boost hydration, add volume and improve definition.
What different types of lip fillers do Transform use?
Here at Transform, we’re dedicated to offering the highest-quality lip filler injections to our patients. All our products are FDA-approved and are carefully designed by premium brands to make sure you achieve your desired look. The types of lip fillers we use in our UK clinics are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally-occurring acid produced by our skin cells. They are non-animal and suitable for all different skin types. Please note that these are not permanent lip fillers and the solution will be absorbed naturally by your body over time. For this reason, you may wish to have a lip filler course to maintain your desired level of volume (the frequency can be discussed at your consultation).
How much lip filler do I need?
It’s up to you to decide how much of a change you want. Some of our clients simply decide on a subtle change, while others want much fuller lips. We’ll talk to you about the look you desire, and let you know our recommendations.
Are lip fillers permanent?
Here at Transform, we offer non-permanent lip fillers that give exceptionally good results. Although they are not permanent, our lip fillers are long-lasting and will usually maintain their volume for between 6 and 12 months – but exactly how long lip fillers last will vary between patients. Because they are not permanent, lip fillers will typically need topping up. You can discuss the frequency of top up treatments at your treatment consultation.
How often can you get lip fillers?
Our non-permanent lip fillers offer great long-lasting results, so you shouldn’t need to get them topped up regularly. Typically, our patients will need to get their lip line fillers redone every three to six months to maintain the same level of fulness and definition.
Rest assured that your lip filler course will be carried out by a qualified and experienced practitioner registered with the JCCP. However, as with any form of cosmetic surgery or procedure, there are some lip filler risks, like bruising, swelling and infection. During your consultation, your patient advisor will talk you through all the potential lip filler risks and side effects. They’ll also give you lip filler aftercare tips to ensure the potential risks are minimised.
How long does swelling last after lip filler?
After the insertion of lip filler, swelling is common, and you may find that your lips feel quite tender for several days. In terms of the lip filler swelling stages, your lips are likely to be most swollen the morning after the procedure. This will gradually ease, and all swelling will usually disappear after 48 hours. Your practitioner will talk you through all potential side effects and how to manage them, including how to reduce swelling after lip fillers.
Is there a lip filler aftercare routine to follow?
You may experience some swelling and bruising after lip fillers, but you should be able to leave the clinic straight after your treatment and go about your usual daily activities. However, there are some lip filler aftercare tips to follow to aid the healing process. We recommend you don’t do any exercise for 24 hours after your treatment and avoid putting makeup on or around your lips. Your patient advisor can give you more information on lip filler aftercare during your consultation, and you’ll have access to our 24/7 helpline if you need any advice once you get home.
Can I wear lipstick after lip fillers?
We recommend you avoid wearing any make up on or around your lips for at least 24 hours after your treatment to aid the lip filler healing process.
Can you smoke after lip fillers?
If you’re wondering whether you can smoke after lip fillers, the general advice is to avoid smoking straight after your treatment. This is because it may increase the risk of infection and may also dry out the skin. However, smoking should not impact the overall outcome of your lip line fillers.
Can you drink alcohol after lip fillers?
We advise patients to avoid drinking alcohol after lip fillers. This is because alcohol is known to thin the blood and can also enlarge blood vessels – which may make the bruising and swelling after lip fillers worse. We also recommend avoiding alcohol for the days leading up to your appointment to minimise these side effects.
