Time to focus on you

Have you been trying to shift that final pocket of fat that just won’t budge? Sometimes despite a healthy diet and regular exercise, you need that final helping hand. Introducing CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting, also known as cryolipolysis, is a non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses cold to reduce or remove fat cells by freezing them in the desired target areas to -11 degrees Celsius. By doing this, the cells are destroyed and over time become eliminated by the body through its own natural process

Because of the advanced technology used by CoolSculpting treatment, there is no requirement to undergo surgery or have anaesthetic. And because no recovery time is required, you can carry on with your day as normal after treatment.

We’re all a work in progress

CoolSculpting helps to get rid of unwanted areas of fat during the 35-45 minute session. You’ll start to see the results within the 2-3 weeks, and the final result will be apparent in about 3 months. The fat cells are permanently destroyed, which means they won’t return to that area.

Fat freezing is non-invasive - you’ll just feel a mild tingling and numbness throughout the treatment – so you don’t have to worry about any needles or anaesthetic. It’s popular with both men and women and can treat areas such as stomach, back, flanks thighs, buttocks, and chin.

Let’s delve into the detail

As with all medical aesthetic treatments, it’s important to weigh up the risks involved against the benefits that the treatment can bring.

FAQ

CoolSculpting FAQs

More FAQs
What’s the difference between SculpSure and Coolsculpting?
Both CoolSculpting and SculpSure achieve the same goal - fat removal - but the manner in which this is achieved is different:

CoolSculpting uses freezing to remove the fat cells, while Sculpsure uses heat to remove them.

Coolsculpting is a longer treatment, with most areas of the body taking 35-45 mins to complete, whereas SculpSure takes around 25 mins for most areas of the body.

Coolsculpting numbs the skin and is not painful. It’s better for those wishing to remove more fat. SculpSure uses heat without hurting the skin.
How does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting works by cooling areas of fat to -11 degrees Celsius using advanced technology. This kills the fat cells in the localised area without damaging surrounding tissue. Your body then naturally removes the treated fat cells from the body.
Who is suitable for CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is suitable for anyone who has exhausted other options of diet and exercise,, but still has stubborn pockets of fat that they can’t get rid of. Your medical aesthetic practitioner will take details of your medical history to determine if the treatment is right for you.
How many CoolSculpting treatments will I need?
The number of CoolSculpting treatments you’ll need will depend on the area being treated and the size of the fatty build-up that you’d like to reduce. For example, chin fat may take less time than the stomach, because it’s a smaller surface area and the fat will be less dense. We’ll be able to give you more detailed advice once you have been assessed at your free consultation.
What is the recovery time for CoolSculpting?
There is no recovery time required, and you’ll be able to continue with your day to day activities after the treatment.
How long does a CoolSculpting treatment take?
Treating one area of the body with CoolSculpting takes from 35-45 minutes. If you want to treat several areas in the same session, it can last anywhere between one and three hours.
Are there any areas of my body that are not suitable for CoolSculpting?
This procedure can be safely performed on most fat-prone body areas, including the chin, neck, stomach, thighs, abdomen, hips, flanks, back, arms and buttocks. It can't be used on the face, calves, feet, ankles or hands.
Are the results of a CoolSculpting treatment permanent?
The fat cells eliminated are permanently killed off and can't come back. It's important to remember, though, that new fat cells can grow in their place, so you'll need to try and keep your weight consistent if you want the results to last.
What happens if I gain weight after my CoolSculpting treatment?
The results are long lasting, but if you put on any weight after your procedure, it's possible that fat could again gather in the area that you've had treated. That's why it's best to stick to a healthy lifestyle and diet.

We’re ready when you are

Your treatment consultation

Once you’ve made your initial telephone enquiry with us, an appointment will be made for you to attend a free consultation with one of our medical aesthetics or nurse practitioners. This will be carried out by video or at your nearest clinic. During this discussion, you’ll be guided through your CoolSculpting treatment options to ensure you get the best results after treatment. You can discuss every aspect of your procedure, with no obligation to go ahead. Our practitioners and nurses are extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you have. If you feel ready to proceed, we’ll book the procedure in for a day and time that suits you.

The treatment

On the day of your CoolSculpting fat freezing treatment, you’ll meet with your practitioner so you can ask any last-minute questions. How long CoolSculpting takes will depend on the area you’re having treated, but as it’s a non-surgical procedure, it usually takes less than two hours to complete.

First, a gel pad and applicator will be applied to the area. You might feel some pulling, pinching or intense cold in the first few minutes, but this soon passes as the area becomes numbed. Then you just sit back and let the technology do its work. You can read a book, relax or take a nap. After your treatment, the area will be massaged for a few minutes to help with the cell breakdown.

Recovery

You’ll be able to leave the clinic on the same day as you have the treatment. Your skin may feel a little numb or have a tingling sensation throughout the process, but this will stop once it’s complete.

Aftercare

High quality aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself, so we’re here to support you. If you have any questions or concerns at all, you can contact our 24/7 helpline. You’ll be able to continue with your day to day activities after the treatment, and although you may have some side effects such as mild bruising or redness of the skin, this will subside quickly.
