While moles, cysts, skin tags and lesions are common skin conditions, they can be irritating and uncomfortable. With help from the most advanced techniques, they can be easily removed from the face and body to restore the comfort and appearance of your skin.
If you’re worried or self-conscious about a mole, cyst, wart, lesion or skin tag, removal may be an option which allows you to feel more confident in your own skin. Almost all common lesions are benign, but if you have a mole, cyst, skin tag or lesion that we suspect may not be, we won’t remove it and instead will refer you to your doctor.
Having the moles and/or cysts removed from your face, neck or chest may help you feel happier with your appearance if it’s something you’ve felt embarrassed about for a while. You might find skin tags and cysts uncomfortable, and they may feel more obvious when wearing tight fitting clothing, or rupture when you’re out in public. You may even find that they affect you when exercising or playing sport. Having them removed will help give you additional peace of mind.
The procedure only takes around 15-30 minutes, depending on how many moles or cysts need removed, and because of the use of either a local or topical anaesthetic is virtually pain-free.
As with all medical aesthetic treatments, it’s important to weigh up the risks and complications involved against the benefits that the treatment can bring. Your medical aesthetic practitioner will talk you through any risks.
While mole or cyst removal rarely carries a risk, these can occasionally include bleeding or infection.
Moles and cysts are fairly common for both men and women. While they’re usually harmless, you may feel that by having clearer, mole-free skin, you’ll feel happier about your appearance. Your mole or cyst might be causing you discomfort, or you may have noticed a change in its shape and size, and you’ve decided it’s time to have it removed. It may also be bothering you if it’s particularly large or positioned in a prominent place.
Our surgeon assistants can talk you through the removal procedure at your free consultation so that you can decide if it’s the right decision for you.

We’re ready when you are
Your first appointment
The initial step will be to meet your friendly and knowledgeable surgeon assistant. You’ll be able to talk to them about why you’re considering mole or cyst removal, whether it’s right for you, the likely cost and finance options, and when you’d like to have the treatment. If you feel ready, we’ll then book you in for your free consultation with one of our medical aesthetic practitioners.
Your treatment consultation
At your free consultation, your professional practitioner or nurse will ask you about the results you want to achieve. They’ll guide you through your mole or cyst removal options to ensure you get the best results. You can discuss every aspect of your treatment with no obligation to go ahead. Our medical aesthetic practitioners and nurses are extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you have. If you feel ready to proceed, we can book your treatment in for a date and time that suits you.
On the day of your treatment you’ll have time to ask any last-minute questions before the procedure begins. Your expert dermatologist will begin by applying a topical anaesthetic cream to the mole or cyst and its surrounding area, 5-10 minutes prior to the procedure. An incision will then be made around the growth to remove it. This will be sent for analysis to check there are no abnormal cells. One of our doctors will then stitch the wound and apply a temporary dressing.
You’ll be able to leave the clinic as soon as your mole or cyst removal treatment has been completed and you should be able to return to normal activities straight away. It may feel slightly sore once the topical anaesthetic has worn off, but this can be treated with over the counter painkillers if necessary.
High quality aftercare is at the heart of what we do, so we’re here to support you. If you have any questions or concerns at all, you can contact our 24/7 helpline. You’ll need to keep the wound dry for 2 days and you’ll be required to come back to the clinic within 7-10 days to have your stitches removed, unless you have dissolvable stitches.
